I am here at work, attempting an exceedingly tedious and boring transcript audit.  My heart is not (nor has it ever been) in my work and I am sick of it!  If there was an electrical wire hanging from the ceiling, I'd hang myself with it!  Seriously.

I really want to become a lion tamer.

p.s. I do have a hat!

ah, could be worse. I also have a boring job at times.

Problem is, I've got a stack of audits piling up larger and larger. Not to mention my other "duties." Blargghhhh!!!!!!

At least you got a job and not like the countless millions that don't.  If you are "Independently Wealthy" quit and fish all the time.  If not quit and let someone that do the work have your job.  If neither works for you quit whining and do what you are getting paid for!

Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed or did you fall out?

Just stating facts. If you worked for me and didn't like your job enough to do the work you were supoosed to I would fire your @zz.

Hey Jeff before you pull the trigger can you visit your lawyer and have the fishing gear willed to me?

Go fishing after work that's been known to solve a lot

Triton I'm guessing it is quite possible on the outside to do one's job very well while at the same time being bored on the inside. Just a thought.

You gotta find something else. Going to work everyday and hating it sucks. Can you do a good job while hating it??? sure, but you can't do your best....start looking (not on company time, mind you) for something that lights the fire inside you.

Also...(and this is not a 100% original thought, heard it on Colin Cowherd the other day) don't think of yourself as just "lucky to have a job." You've earned the job you have, regardless of the situation. There are plenty of people who have lost their jobs because of stuff beyond their control, but that doesn't mean someone can call you out for not liking your job.

A little extreme, don't you think? I can't think of too many people that really like their job. Imagine if all managers subscribed to that mindset. Who could hold a job then??

:)  I don't know exactly how well I do my job.  Certainly if I were motivated, I could do better.  My boss has seemed okay with my performance but no one could ever measure up to his expectations regardless.

My heart goes out for everyone who is unemployed right now.  I've been without a job before and it isn't fun.  It's one reason why I've stuck with this one so long.  But I don't think I'm lazy.  I've served in the Air Force, baled hay, detasseled corn, worked in a dry cleaning plant, gotten up at 4 a.m., etc, etc.  So it isn't that I'm afraid of work.  But some days (actually most) I think if I have to stare at one more sheet of paper, I'll puke. :(

Fish-fighting illini-You'll be the first person on my list for my fishing gear.  Just don't be too eager!  ;)

I had lots of jobs  I didn't like from shoveling s#!t to sales ect, ect.  I always gave a full days work for a full days pay.  I never had to back up to pick up my check.  I started my own business and the people I had did their job or they left.

I stand behind my statements.

You should take comfort in the fact that you don't enjoy doing audits. It means you're normal.

Jeff lets just say the next time we go to Clinton you should keep your life jacket on!  ;)

I've already got the alibi planned and can see the headline now..

" Distraught man drowns with 200lb audit paper stack duct taped to his back!"

Maybe a better idea would be for you to will it to Kyle and I will work out a deal with him, less paper trail that way ( paper trail get it )

Remind me to get a better look at your tackle boxes the next time we get together! ;D

Its crazy how that works......and sure thats not exactly true for everyone, but dang it is for a lot of folks I know...bust your butt to get to that job you think is ideal, only to get their and find out how bad it sucks, or how the extra couple of bucks just really isn't worth it.
