srv1990 Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 I wouldn't say it's "forgotten", but I caught On the Waterfront on TCM last weekend. A classic if there ever was one. And sadly, one of the stars of On the Waterfront, Karl Malden, passed away yesterday at age 97. Here's a great scene from one of the all-time great movies: Quote

Super User bilgerat Posted July 2, 2009 Super User Posted July 2, 2009 Southern Comfort Great pick. Originally panned as a Deliverance ripoff when it was released. Critics are useless. Sorcerer starring Roy Scheider. He's a low level mob guy on the run in Central America. He and three other guys in similar situations have to drive two trucks full of nitro glycerine through the jungle. The bridge crossing scene will blow your mind. I'd be suprised if anyone here remembers it. The original Taking of Pelham 123 was on the other night. Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted July 2, 2009 Super User Posted July 2, 2009 The African Queen, with Bogart and Hepburn. The Hustler, with Paul Newman Thunder Road, with Robert Mitchum Bridge on the River Kwai Further back, High Noon, with Gary Cooper Sergeant York, with Gary Cooper Friendly Persuasion, with, ta da, Gary Cooper Quote

RobbyZ5001 Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Caddyshack. A Bronx Tale. Caddyshack has been on TV every other day for the last month. Quote
Super User flechero Posted July 3, 2009 Super User Posted July 3, 2009 Lots of good ones listed so far! IMO, one of the best films ever made... The Biscuit Eater 1940. The 1970's remake was nothing like the original. Also loved Last of the Dogmen Quote
