jimmieO Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Where do you folks get your music? I had a monthly service that was like 15 bucks for unlimited downloads only to my mp3, but I didn't even get to keep the songs.... Any recommendations? I want it to be cheap and legal... Quote
Super User Dan: Posted July 2, 2009 Super User Posted July 2, 2009 Itunes or Zune. You can also use Amazon to just download songs but I've had issues with their downloading program... Quote

tritz18 Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 only thing bad about itunes is that they have raised prices on popular songs. But overall its still very good and reliable. Quote
FordNFishinLover Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 *warning* I use Limewire to download all my music. Its always worked great for me. But i know of some people that think they have gotten viruses from it. Also im not positive if its legal. But it is free. Quote
Big Tom Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 I think Limewire might be a really bad idea. I think its illegal, easy to track and causes computer problems. I would go with Itunes. Quote

I know 3 people off the top of my head that have gotten caught and fined from using Lime Wire. That's an extremely easy way to sign up for loads of viruses too. Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted July 3, 2009 Super User Posted July 3, 2009 i don't use it, but i've wondered about it... what do you guys know about megaupload/rapidshare? is it reliable or whatever? one safe way to get mp3's is to download the latest version of RealPlayer (that can download streaming media) and then go to www.playlist.com, play a song you like, and then you can download it as an mp3 with RealPlayer. I agree I had limewire on my old house computer and it slowed it down immensely and fried the harddrive, never again will I use anything like that Quote
Eddie Munster Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 i don't use it, but i've wondered about it... what do you guys know about megaupload/rapidshare? is it reliable or whatever? I've used Rapidshare for a lot of stuff. Once you download something, scan it and if it's a zip file or rar file unpack it and scan it again. As far as MP3s go, beemp3.com has been a good site. Quote
