Ok bought a couple of these and tried them out today. 125 size slow sink. I really came away unimpressed by this lure, especially b/c they have been hyped up by other forum member. I didnt feel like this lure moved much water and I was unimpressed by its action. A fast sink model would probably be better. Perhaps my expectations were too high and maybe I wasnt fishing them correctly. Bummer.  :-/

I first started out with letting it sink and then real back in. I was expecting more action when reeling it back in. The lure didnt get as "loose" as I wanted it too on the retrieve. Wasnt really impressed with that action so I tried jerk-pause. The jerk pause method looked a lot better in the water, with the lure darting to one side and then slowly sinking.

I will be the first to admit that the bass were not in the mood to chase today, but still wasnt crazy about the lures action. The magic swimer seems to swim through the water and doesnt seem to put off the vibration I get from a crank. I dont know if this is a bad thing, just different.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I will give them another shot or two b/f deciding to get rid of them.

This lure is more of a fast retrieve jerk bait than a swimbait IMO.

you can always send it my way if you are not pleased with it!

They are a killer bait. I fish them in stump fields & they work well. Keep using them they will pay off.

Let it sink for 5 seconds and kinda twitch your rod tip like you do when your spinnerbait hits the water and then reel steadily all the back to the boat. Usually it doesnt take a pause because the spots are so aggressive. I fish them around and stump rows in 8-10 feet of water. And because my water is kinda dingy around here i use the Peacock color.

Nice

I picked up two small smallmouths and some rock bass yesterday on the 3.5inch version using the same technique.

Anyone have any slower methods or know of any other jointed baits that can be slow rolled?  I feel like to get a good S action I have to burn the thing and the fish aren't always chasing
