Super User Tin Posted June 24, 2009 Super User Posted June 24, 2009 When you're having a bad day today just think about the positives. I had to be at URI this morning for 9am to make my schedule and meet my advisor about my fall schedule. So I was coming home with the boat on back this morning around 7:45. I was backing my boat down the driveway (very steep), when I lost it, just about jack knifed the boat and put the rear of the truck into one of the many large oaks on the edge of my driveway. Completely crushed the rear passenger side of the truck. Good news is the frame and hitch are ok and the boat and trailer are ok. But my truck needs a new bed and bumper and my neck and head are killing me. I guess it was just bound to happen, I was being stupid and in a rush. I have been towing since I got my license and I guess it is a good first accident to have. Could always be worse... : Quote
Uncle Leo Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Sorry to here that, at least you were not seriuosly hurt. Be careful out there. Quote

Super User Tin Posted June 24, 2009 Author Super User Posted June 24, 2009 Probably just 10 I had my foot on the brakes it is just that the hill in my driveway is so ____ steep. And I was turned around looking at not using my mirrors(rookie move). Quote

Super User Jimzee Posted June 24, 2009 Super User Posted June 24, 2009 The hell with the truck as long as the boat is okay. You should have seen me go through a Burger King drive through one time with the boat. I didn't leave enough room to swing the turn, the boat was all in the flowers and bushes. lol Quote
=Matt 5.0= Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Poor Power Ranger. The "4 litres of Fury" has been taking a beating at the hands of Tin. At least you didn't break the frame in half...... Oh wait...................... Quote

That's a funny thought. Seeing someone pulled a boat through a flower and brush at a drive-thru. LOL. Quote

Pond Hopper Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 I want to hear Pond Hopper's story about his new Tacoma so I dont feel as bad.... ;D So I went out early one morning to sell a few pieces of farm equipment. Came back with about 800K in sales, parked out in the middle of our lot as the lot was full. Worked a long day of work, to be the last to leave, and came out to a huge dent in my tailgate. As I proceed to hell who did this, I realize, no one is here. To make it worse, the big scratch of green paint on my one year old truck is not enough evidence apparently to the owner of a John Deere store that one of his employees(not me) hit my truck. > Quote

Those chain drive-throughs are the worst because they don't leave enough room to make the turn. Quote
Super User Tin Posted June 25, 2009 Author Super User Posted June 25, 2009 I have yet to find a Dunkin Donuts drive-thru I can't conquer at 5am. The best is having your buddy run out and get in the passenger console and have him pay and get the coffee at the window. Now if I could only conquer my drive-way... ;D Quote
Super User burleytog Posted June 25, 2009 Super User Posted June 25, 2009 That is an idea that will be tried the next time Tom and I head to the lake. Quote
Super User Tin Posted June 25, 2009 Author Super User Posted June 25, 2009 Yes but only do it in drive-thrus. Around town with two drunken buddies in the boat giving the Ms. America wave and asking "How they biting?" to the car next to you at a red light is called reckless-endangerment. :-X :-[ Quote
