Super User fourbizz Posted December 20, 2006 Super User Posted December 20, 2006 I use Fed Ex, they are a faster, better company and more reliable. Awesome display of your complete lack of tact! Way to go LBH, I've received about 40 packages the last month or so, and UPS is the only one that is always on time and reliable. Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Hey Russ your a great man that works for a good company ;D Quote
BASS fisherman Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 We get packages all the time at our family business and UPS is by far the fastest and friendliest delivery service that there is. Fed-Ex would come in 2nd and DHL comes in a very low 3rd. Point wise UPS would get a 10, Fed-Ex gets an 8, and DHL would get a 2, and that 2 is a slight exageration, by 2 points. We can order something on Monday, and know for a fact, the day it will arrive with the UPS guy. The only slightly bad thing I have to say about UPS is one of our fill in drivers is deathly afraid of dogs, and refuses to get within 10 feet of our door. We'll be working and hear someone outside, "hello, hello!" Then he will find sticks and throw them at our door untill we respond. It is kind of funny since our dog wouldn't hurt anyone. But I can understand his dilemma. Quote
justfishin Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Well first of all two of my best friends are UPS drivers and that is always what I say to them. Second, it was meant to get a rise out of you and purely as a tongue and cheek thing. I expected a comeback since everyone is always joking around in here. No, I am not rude. Far from it. I know the feeling of working all those hours since I work in a ER. I went in at 3:40am this morning and just got home at 9:41 pm. I think you guys do a great job or the Doc's wouldn't use UPS. After some of the returns I think I wore out my welcome. Again, it was meant to see what your comeback would be. Didn't mean for you to take it the wrong way and after all the ribbing in here I sure did not expect the nasty returns. Ya'll take it easy, and good luck fishing. Tootles. Quote
Captain Cali Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Great work Russ and crew! You guys are the bomb!! 8-) Quote
Troutfisher Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 You're a good man Russ. Agreed....to Russ and fast, reliable service! Quote
RiskKid. Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 LBH....you are a modern day Santa Claus....good work and keep up the spirit Quote
Daniel My Brother Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Hey Jim, I'm sorry if I jumped too quick. You do seem like a good guy and I have enjoyed your contributions to the site. Dan Quote
NEBassMan Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Jim, don't sweat it. It's really hard to tell on the internet whether somebody is joking or not. Sometimes it helps to use the smileys to show that you are joking. Jason Quote

It's really hard to tell on the internet whether somebody is joking or not. Sometimes it helps to use the smileys to show that you are joking. Jason Yup, exactly. Usually a little at the end lets everyone know you're just kidding around. No worries. Lesson learned next time around. UPS guys rock. I went to the post office today, only to find them closed. 9-5 hours, even during holidays. And they wonder why they're losing business to you guys! ;D Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted December 20, 2006 Author Posted December 20, 2006 Must be nice to not have to show a profit, lol. Jim- exactly as I figured, Somthing Basschaser mentioned that I need to reiterate on. UPS is big but DHL is HUGE. We don't notice them here in the states but overseas, they are everywhere. They are by far #1 for "international overnight" I know, I know, they don't have the bps or Cabelas account so you guys could care less, lol. Quote

SHORTY Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 YOU GOTTA BE JOKING !!!! TWO WEEKS AGO I SENT A NIKON D2H ($2500) TO NIKON FOR MINOR REPAIR. THEY DID AND RETURNED IT VIA UPS. IT WAS STOLEN - BY UPS EMPLOYEE. ALL I GOT WAS A MUTILATED - BOX. NIKON WILL COVER THE LOSS, BUT THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE TO. MY OPINION - UPS SUCKS... Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted December 20, 2006 Super User Posted December 20, 2006 Ok, again... Did it occur to you that it was a crappy person, not a crappy company. Granted, I realize that the employees are the face that the public sees. I dont think this particular thread was created for anyone to air their complaints, just a contributing member (mod) stating that he takes pride in what he does, does his job well and is trying his best to make sure people receive their packages during one of the busiest time of the year. IMO, keep your gripes to yourself on this one. If you have an issue with a particular company, maybe try voicing it in an intelligent, tactful manner in the appropriate location. Merry Christmas. SHORTY Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 You started this thread, not me. What I know is, I'M OUT $2500, and I'm severely ticked. If that bothers you, too daxx bad. So, cancel me if you think I care. I first reply stands.... Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 I'm not one to judge or usually jump in on these types of issues but Shorty this isnt called for. LBH is just pleased with what he does and likes bringing smiles to peoples faces when he delivers their packages. He has nothing to do with other UPS stations or internal affairs. Every company has theives and any company that big or even 1/100 that size has these problems. Please take your complaint up with your local UPS Hub not here. From your previous post it sounds like Nikon is taking care of you. We dont need this type of blaspheme. Thank you. Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 20, 2006 Super User Posted December 20, 2006 Our neighborhood UPS delivery guy is "Scott" and he loves Virginia Tech football which we discuss all year. I met his son in a Wal-Mart store shopping with Scott. When the UPS truck drives down our street and does not stop, we get depressed. When the UPS truck drives down our street and stops at our house, we all get excited. Thanks to Low Budget Hooker and all of the guys at UPS for making us happy this holiday season. UPS is a great company and we have NEVER had any problems with deliveries. Thanks again to all of those UPS guys. Quote
Super User flechero Posted December 20, 2006 Super User Posted December 20, 2006 NIKON WILL COVER THE LOSS I'M OUT $2500, and I'm severely ticked. Those responses were only 2 hours apart (had you forgotten?) and the first one stated Nikon would cover the loss. So you aren't out anything and if anyone should be ticked it's LBH for the ridiculous hijacking. Quote

BucketmouthAngler13 Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 I usualy stay out of matters such as this, but i cant help myself this time. I have to say that was a extreamly rude thing to post, shorty. Just becuase one out of a hundred thousand UPS drivers stole your package doesnt mean you should post that on a thread where somone is talking about their hard work at UPS. Now i dont faver UPS over FedEx, But if i hated UPS and somone was talking about the hard work they put in to make it a better service, I wouldn't make a post about how much i hated them. I would contact UPS via email, and talk to them about it, and go one with life. LBH is a hard working man, so give credit where credit is due. And send your complaints where they belong. just my humble .02 Quote

Low_Budget_Hooker Posted December 20, 2006 Author Posted December 20, 2006 Noone is out anything, that is what the insurance is for. That's why "Nikon" is taking care of it because it was over $1000 and INSURED. UPS will pay Nikon and Nikon will pay you. rest assured, a thief doesn't last long at UPS. Last incident we had, a lady was "over-labeling" dell computers to go to her cousins house. Dumb. they documented it and waited till she hit 50k worth and bagged her for all kinds of charges. Either way, on behalf of UPS, I apologize for the delay in you getting your camera. It IS covered and you will be reimbursed. On a happier note, I delivered a rod to a guy today, his wife bought it and he didn't know. Talk about pumped! I also had a girl ask me " Mom said you are one of santa's helpers, do you get to talk to him in person?" How cool. Quote
