jimmieO Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 I'm sure this has been asked a hundred times, but I'm starting to wonder if what i use is too big? What size and type hooks do you guys use for your plastics? Most interested in your input on 6-8" lizards, 7-10" finesse worms, 10" power worms... Thanks all for the input! Quote
Just_Old_Fisherman Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 I like the 3/0 EWG hooks for anything up to about 8". Above that, 4/0 or 5/0 EWG depending on the bulk of the bait. This is for soft plastic worm and lizard type baits and not the hollow soft plastic swim baits. Quote
Evan Pease Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 I use regular offset for everything but the bulky worms and the swimbaits that you rig yourself. For sizes I go with 2 or 3 /0 for 6in and under and 4 or 5 for evrything else, depending on what part of the bait the most action comes from. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted June 20, 2008 Super User Posted June 20, 2008 4/0 EWG Offset Worm Hooks for almost everything. (3/0 EWG for 3 1/2" tubes) DON"T skimp on hooks, save money somewhere else. I use Gamakatsu oe XPoint. Owners are also highly recommended by many of our members. 8-) Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted June 20, 2008 Super User Posted June 20, 2008 I use 2/0, 3/0, and 4/0 size ewg hooks. Quote
