bigfruits Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 pink flamingos (although its a must see) Tokyo Tony - feel proud to be a movie snob. all they seem to put out lately is super hero and horrible action crap. blockbusters with no depth. Quote
dave Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 The Exorcist. To this day I can't watch it. One of my favorite movies because it is based on a true story. My 19 yr. old daughter used to brag about the Grudge and other modern horror films. She told me that the Exorcist would be a piece of cake. She hid her eyes a couple of times. When Regan's head spun she said, "that's it, I'm done." She watched almost the whole movie and conceded defeat. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted June 16, 2009 Super User Posted June 16, 2009 "Seven" starring Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey. Editorial Reviews Amazon.com essential video The most viscerally frightening and disturbing homicidal maniac picture since The Silence of the Lambs, Seven is based on an idea that's both gruesome and ingenious. A serial killer forces each of his victims to die by acting out one of the seven deadly sins. The murder scene is then artfully arranged into a grotesque tableau, a graphic illustration of each mortal vice. From the jittery opening credits to the horrifying (and seemingly inescapable) concluding twist, director David Fincher immerses us in a murky urban twilight where everything seems to be rotting, rusting, or molding; the air is cold and heavy with dread. Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt are the detectives who skillfully track down the killer--all the while unaware that he has been closing in on them, as well. Gwyneth Paltrow and Kevin Spacey are also featured, but it is director Fincher and the ominous, overwhelmingly oppressive atmosphere of doom that he creates that are the real stars of the film. It's a terrific date movie--for vampires. --Jim Emerson Quote
Daniel My Brother Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Full Metal Jacket. Specifically the scene with Private Pyle in the bathroom. X2 on Silence of the Lambs, Exorcist, Deer Hunter, and American History X. I have not watched Seven, but now I want to! Quote

Daniel A. Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 The Strangers. its based on true events as they know it. It is one messed up movie about 3 people killing a couple just because thats the house they chose and they were home. "Why are you doing this?" "Because you were home." That one gets me. My wife and I watched it a while back. For several days, she didn't want me to leave, and she had trouble sleeping. By far, one of the best movies I've seen. What about The Exorcism of Emily Rose? I think that one's more freaky than The Exorcist. Quote
bigfruits Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 if you guys want to see a very disturbing non-fiction documentary check out "paradise lost". my girlfriend had to watch it for a class in college and made me watch it with her. im not easily disturbed by movies but this one got me. Quote

Whats' really messed up is that you guys actually went and watched that movie! I hope you at least took the kids. ;D I love horror/slasher flicks so none of them really bother me. Remember-it's only a movie! The one that I can't get out of my head is "Night and Day" which is a documentary of the concentration camps during the holocaust that we watched in High school in film study class. I get nightmares whenever I think about that one. Nothing Rob Zombie could dream up could ever outdo what actually went on there. Quote

srv1990 Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 "Seven" starring Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey. Definitely "Seven" for me for an entire movie. And the hobbling scene in "Misery" is one I still cannot watch. Quote

bass wrangler569 Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 The Wall Not disturbing just really screwed up, but I absolutely love it! In my top five favorite movies. I don't know how all those people used to watch The Wall on acid though. That would be the scariest experience in the world. Quote

Quitlimpin Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 8MM. I try to avoid Nick Cage movies, but I saw this and it was tough to watch. I've never been able to watch those Faces of Death movies either. Lastly, and this is a HUGE confession, I cannot watch zombie movies. If I do, I have nightmares for weeks. Not kidding. 8mm is the most disgusting movie i have ever seen. Got up and left about 45 minutes in and never looked back. Quote
