Micro saw this on Tackle Tour and alerted me:

A Tragic Loss of a Great Friend

by Fishgod82 » Tue Jun 09, 2009 4:49 am

Gentlemen I'm deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost one of our best friends. Hector Sariol aka Lubina passed away in the early morning hours today.

For those who knew Hector it goes without saying how big of a heart the man had. I've never met anyone with such a golden genuineness about them. Not many people took the time to truly find out who Hector really was. He was a great father, good husband, and tremendous friend. His wife Gloria and sons David and Eric will deeply miss him. Through the good times and the bad he persevered through it all. From growing up in Cuba and coming to the USA to become one of the top trauma surgeons in the world. Even with all he accomplished the things he loved the most were his family and everything about the great outdoors.

There will not be a ceremony concerning Hector's passing as he did not wish to have one. If anyone would like me to relay condolences to the family I will gladly oblige.

Hector, you will be missed my friend.

Very sad, indeed.  Lubina never posted a lot, but always had something good to say when he did.  Man, I will miss him.

Wow, what a shame.  Condolences and prayers to his family.

He was a class act, for sure.  I hope his kids are fisherman also, I know that he has a stable of IMX (and other) rods to pass down.  (and many nice reels)

Man, he's been a member here for years.  His last post was a few weeks ago.  So sad.

Just completely blown away by this!!!

Don't even know what to say...I talked to him quite a bit about JDM tackle.  He loved it as much as I did.

Totally bummed about this.

Prayers for you and your family my friend, may you rest in peace.

Roadwarrior,

So sorry about his passing.

He was a good member of the forum.

And he is an example of the great people we have on this site.

We will miss him.

T&P to family and friends on his behalf.

I'm shocked and saddened.  I tend to not think of people passing who participate in this forum.  Lubina will be missed.

I was fortunate to have the opportunity to exchange saltwater experiences with Hector.

In addition to freshwater angling, Hector was an accomplished striped bass fisherman.

My condolences to his family, and may my friend rest in peace.

Very Sad, indeed.  My condolences to his friends and family left behind, and all his online fishing buddies as well.

Although not having the privilige to exhange written dialogue with Hector (it sounds as though I missed out), I am saddened by the loss of a fellow forum member. I will lift his family and friends up in my prayers.
