fatbass Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Last week there was the discussion of charcoal vs. gas. This past weekend, as I worked some chicken breasts over on the gas grill, I wondered about some of the favorite sauces used. I had Sweet Baby Ray's to use but my personal favorite is Cattlemens Classic. What are some of your personal favorites and if you like to make your own, and the recipe isn't ancient chinese secret, maybe you could share? Quote

srv1990 Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 One of my favorites in the lesser-known category is Blues Hog: http://www.blueshog.com/website/main.html For a "big name" sauce I really like Sweet Baby Ray's. BTW, I just ordered some Gates to see what all the fuss is about 8-) Quote
nateobot Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Awesome, always looking for new BBQ sauce to try. Sweet Baby Rays is good stuff, I also like some stuff called Que Pit not sure if it is regional or national. Will order some of that Gates stuff soon. Quote
CSB Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Cattlemens Classic. This stuff is pretty good! For chicken I like Jack Daniels, the kind with the hint of hickory. For beef and pork Cattlemans Classic or Honey. Quote

Eddie Munster Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Soooo many BBQ sauces.........so little time. Sweet Baby Rays is good but sometimes I like the thicker sauce like Cattleman's or K.C. Masterpiece. About a year ago I went out to Kansas City for a work related trip staying out there for 9 nights. Of those 9 nights, I ate BBQ 6 nights. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted June 4, 2009 Super User Posted June 4, 2009 I forgot to add a local favorite: Milwaukee's Speed Queen http://www.foodspot.com/speedqueen/# I've been on a SBR's Sweet Vidalia Onion kick lately. Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted June 4, 2009 Super User Posted June 4, 2009 This is not a sauce, but it is the best seasoning for grilling. What it does to a rib eye steak is absolutely unbelievable. And, you can use it on any meat, vegetable, salads, etc. http://www.susieqbrand.com/cart.php?m=product_detail&c=1&p=7 Quote
