bassdocktor Posted May 29, 2009 Author Posted May 29, 2009 I've been hearing that alot of people have used the SI units to find people. I'm sorry to hear about your cousin. On the positive side atleast you were able to find them. Heres's the non-zoomed in picture. Quote
pa mountain man Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 When they built my favorite lake in the 50's, the contractor never moved the cemetery, just the headstones. We had a bad drought in the early 90's that surfaced alot of brass handles, and other weird things. Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted May 29, 2009 Super User Posted May 29, 2009 Went to Nawlins several years ago. The cab driver explained that they stopped burying folks in graves years ago. Everytime they had a flood, caskets would pop to the surface. According to the driver, the body of a widow's husband ended up on the porch of the house where she lived. Quote
Pitchinkid Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Man that is crazy looking. I would flip the F$%@ out! Frickin Jason Voorhees man. I swear to god it is. Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted May 29, 2009 Super User Posted May 29, 2009 This would make a great prelude to a Bones or CSI episode. Quote
Eddie Munster Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Pics look amazing but nearly $2,000 for one of these units? Quote
Super User skunked_again Posted May 29, 2009 Super User Posted May 29, 2009 Pics look amazing but nearly $2,000 for one of these units? i got mine for the low, low price of $750. Quote
bassdocktor Posted May 29, 2009 Author Posted May 29, 2009 Eddie I agree it is alot but the amount I've learned with it is amazing. Honestly, I learned more about reading my electronics in the week I spent with it than in the 7 years or so I've been using electronics. I've also found alot of other stuff aswell. If you are fishing against alot of locals in a tournament it helps level things out alittle too. Again it is alot but it was the first upgrade to the boat in probably 3 years, so money was already put aside. I also can't imagine not having the large screen size ever again. Quote
BUCKEYEone Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 I'm going to cut and paste this thread into a letter to my county seeking grant funding for me to get one of these units to assist our Search & Rescue dive team. Now I need to figure out how to get them to buy me a boat too...hmmm Quote
Super User Muddy Posted May 29, 2009 Super User Posted May 29, 2009 If you lived here they would spring for a snorkel!!!!!!!! Quote
bassdocktor Posted May 29, 2009 Author Posted May 29, 2009 Buckeye, the county that did the search just put in their request for the 1197. I've talked to a few other people that have friends or have seen these units being used in search and rescue or body recovery. I guess its starting to become pretty common. Quote

bassdocktor Posted June 4, 2009 Author Posted June 4, 2009 Hey guys I should have an update this afternoon for you. I'll be taking the sheriff out in about an hour. Quote
bassdocktor Posted June 5, 2009 Author Posted June 5, 2009 Hey guys sorry for the delay, decided to hit another lake and do some fishing. Well no body. He said odds are it's been down for awhile and he said he wouldn't be surprised if we call later in the summer. He thinks it's probably laying somewhere on the bottom. *All fixed* Quote
daviscw Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Huh? I thought it was me. Haha, I wasn't going to question a doctor. LMAO! Quote
Lucky Craft Man Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Hey guys sorry for the delay, decided to hit another lake and do some fishing. Well no body. He said odds are it's been down for awhile and he said he would be surprised if we call later in the sumner. He thinks it's probably laying somewhere on the bottom. I assume this should be "wouldn't be surprised" meaning that he would expect them to find the body somewhere else while fishing. If this is not correct, then I have no idea what was being said. Quote
bassdocktor Posted June 5, 2009 Author Posted June 5, 2009 Yes, you guys are correct. It should have said "wouldn't." I don't have my computer so I was posting from my phone and it either auto corrected something and I got would or I just messed up and missed that. I'll go back and fix it when I am at home tomorrow on my computer. We covered pretty much the entire area where he thought it could have moved to. All we found was another boat someone lost. Quote
