bassdocktor Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Thought I'd share with you guys what I found while trying out the new 997c. Sure looks like a body. Alot of people have checked out the picture and all agree. The sheriff dive team is coming out tomorrow morning so I'll keep you guys updated. Hope the picture comes up cause I haven't posted any before. Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted May 28, 2009 Super User Posted May 28, 2009 now thats just creepy. $10 says its not though. Hell, theres a d**n face on Mars that is just a couple hills and shadows, lol. Quote
bassdocktor Posted May 28, 2009 Author Posted May 28, 2009 It is pretty creepy. The biggest thing they are saying is that there are 3 hard objects that you can see in the picture, 2 where the feet should be and one where the torso is located. There are shadows on the object in question too. So we'll see tomorrow morning. Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted May 28, 2009 Super User Posted May 28, 2009 thats just gnarly. if by hard object, they think that it is some sort of anchoring ala the oh so cliche concrete boots, you would hope that any self respecting criminal would find some water deeper than 6.5ft, lol. Quote
bassdocktor Posted May 28, 2009 Author Posted May 28, 2009 Fourbizz you would think they would find some deeper water. It actually would have been close to 10ft since it was off to the side. Not a huge difference but still slightly deeper. Let me tell you criminals in the area I found this "object" in really aren't that smart. If nothign else they want to come out just to make sure that it is nothing. All the neighbors are kinda concerned about letting their little kids in the water if there is a decomposing body. Can't say I blame them. Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted May 28, 2009 Super User Posted May 28, 2009 I hear you. I guess this could be a rare case of me being a "positive pessimist" ;D Quote
Super User Dan: Posted May 28, 2009 Super User Posted May 28, 2009 that's really creepy. Be sure to keep us updated, for some reason I'm extremely intrigued by this (probably something to do with all the Law and Order and CSI I have watched...) Quote
bassdocktor Posted May 28, 2009 Author Posted May 28, 2009 Yeah fourbizz the only good thing if it is a body is maybe a family can get some closure. I'll defintely keep you guys updated. I should know something by tomorrow afternoon. Quote
FishingPirate Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Yeah fourbizz the only good thing if it is a body is maybe a family can get some closure. I'll defintely keep you guys updated. I should know something by tomorrow afternoon. I kninda hope its a body as well. Like you said, it might give someone some peace at mind to at least know where their loved one was. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Decomp,...the crayfish dinner bell. I'd pick it apart with a jig/craw trailer before I called anybody. 8-) Quote
Super User burleytog Posted May 28, 2009 Super User Posted May 28, 2009 Makes me glad I didn't buy an SI unit last month. God only knows what I would find in the two lakes I fish on a regular basis. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted May 28, 2009 Super User Posted May 28, 2009 Let's all hope it's not a body. Quote
SDoolittle Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 They pulled a dead body out of a small coal pit back home one time. The day after a friend and I fished there. Quote
SDoolittle Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Decomp,...the crayfish dinner bell. I'd pick it apart with a jig/craw trailer before I called anybody. 8-) Maybe people should start sinking dead livestock instead of brushpiles! Quote
Super User Muddy Posted May 28, 2009 Super User Posted May 28, 2009 If the body has an old school TEAMSTER CARD, you may have solved the Hoffa Issue 8-) Quote
bassdocktor Posted May 28, 2009 Author Posted May 28, 2009 Well guys just got off the phone with my dad who is up by the lake in MI. They went down for 2 dive because they weren't convinced nothing was there after the first one. All they found were the cement blocks. They still aren't convinced especially I guess because of the arrangement of the block when they got down there. They are recommending that the case not be closed. They said it might only be a large doll or something but they still want to know. Their next step is to have me go out with one of them and basically scan the lake with one of them. They are waiting to get approval to purchase a unit otherwise they would be out there with it. They also want me to show them how to use the unit once they get their own. So that's kinda cool. Quote
Super User grimlin Posted May 28, 2009 Super User Posted May 28, 2009 Wow,keep us updated if they do find something. Creepy looking! Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted May 28, 2009 Super User Posted May 28, 2009 It just went from creepy to very creepy. Quote
BUCKEYEone Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 That is wild, let us know who turns up! Those guys will thank you for convincing their bosses they need a new toy though! Quote
Eddie Munster Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 lol at LBH and the jig/craw trailer remark. That just ain't right man. ;D I'm interested in the finding of this. Just think, bassdocktor could be on A & E Cold Case files or something like that. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted May 28, 2009 Super User Posted May 28, 2009 I'm interested in the finding of this. Just think, bassdocktor could be on A & E Cold Case files or something like that. I watch Cold Case files all the time, those shows are addictive. This has turned out to be very interesting....especially now that they may have found some Nike Air Concrete's down there. Quote
bassdocktor Posted May 28, 2009 Author Posted May 28, 2009 Well depending how a few things go on my end this week I'm gonna try and get back up there probably on Thursday. If I do I'll be taking one of the guys from the sheriff department with me. Good thing it's close enough to make it up there in 2hrs. As stuff happens I'll be sure to keep you guys posted. I'll put up the other non-zoomed picture I have when I get home too. Check back late tonight or tomorrow for the other picture. Quote
Super User Micro Posted May 28, 2009 Super User Posted May 28, 2009 That's just Muddy swimming around down there looking for a rod he knocked over the side. Quote
CJ Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 My 997c was bought for me for the purpose of trying to locate a couple of bodies. My cousin drown last winter in Ky. Lake. The local volunteer boys were a joke to say the least. Side scans did end up finding them. I have been amazed at what I see on them. That is a good pic and looks like a body to me bassdoc. It is creepy... Quote
