We want to get a DVD so we can watch rented movies.

Any suggestions?

We have a regular Panasonic TV, not HD.

We need a "simple" and easy to use DVD as we are not too computer savy.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks.  :)

if you aren't watching movies in HD than I really don't think the make/model of the player matters all that much. Just go grab a reasonably priced one and you should be fine.

I'd get an inexpensive DVD player from Walmart. No need to spend more than $100. In fact, you could get one from a major manufacturer for much less. If you can work a VCR, a DVD player ain't much different.

Dang Dave, you pounced on that one pretty good. But you're right.

You can get DVD PLAYERSrelatively cheap (under 50 bucks) nowadays. I use my Play Station 3 because it plays BlueRay.

I also have a Sony 5 disc DVD player that's been used maybe 5 times since I bought it 3 yrs ago.

Oh yea, I also have a Phillips 1 disk player in my bedroom that cost about $120 5 yrs ago. It still work great but I'm sure doesn't cost nearly half as much.

I would go with any popular name brand. Brandsmart would be a good store to look at.

Thanks guys.

Never thought about Wal-Mart.

Dave, we have a DVD player, but it does not work so I need to replace it.

Son  (computer nerd) got snooty about it so wife and I will do it by ourselves and I just need some guidance, which you all provided.

Thanks to all.  :)
