All I know, is that people who concern themselves with how others spend their money, tick me off

The #1 thing I see people spend WAAAY too much money on, is high-per bass boats. I mean, yea', I can see all of the high technology materials, and R/D that goes into building one, and so therefore, I can see "why" they are so expensive.

I just don't know why the average weekend angler thinks he needs one. And then to watch the commercials trying to sell those boats...... I always just sit their shaking my head.

I mean, don't tell me how fast it is.... Don't show me how pretty it is.... You want to sell me one of those things, show me how it will help me to catch giant bass, and make it run all day on a couple gallons.... then drop the price to $10K or less... (oh, and put a camo paint job on it ;-)  LOL.... and then I'll think about buying one..... in 10 years when my current boat is completely worn out, that is.

Peace,

Fish

If your argument is against the money, I'm with you but if it's against the "bass boat" I'll defend it. ...lol The traditional bass boat is a great solution for a lot of people.

For a single purpose boat with one angler, and most often used in "good" weather conditions... you are absolutely correct. Your boat is the perfect solution. (and cool looking!) I'd love it as a second boat.

I don't fall into the one angler, single purpose and I certainly don't get to pass on a 20mph wind days for a 5 mph wind days. I often have multiple anglers standing/walking around. We fish crowded and often rough water regularly. And my wife certainly likes the ride quality of a heavier glass hull. And since I fish most of the time I'm out, I rarely burn more than a gallon or two a day...

Oh, and I'm the original owner of this 1994 champion... it's fishing just as nicely as it did 15 years ago (15 years this week, actually- happy birthday to my boat!!) and it seems like it might have another 15 years worth of life left to give. ;)

Healthcare

Completely agree. I'm beginning to think of most doctors as nothing more than hustlers

It isn't the just doctors, it's pharmaceutical co's and the insurance companies, they even dictate what doctors can make.

I don't care how much doctors earn either, they earn their keep and they work amazing long hours under stressful conditions.

My biggest gripe is being held hostage by the insurance co.

I paid a group rate for about 50 employees, then I retired and had to convert to an individual plan.  Plan not nearly as good and the cost was fairly close.  When I moved to Fla, my insurance was not transferable and the plans down here would not write me or my wife due to pre existing conditions.  Not many over 60 are 100% perfect.

More people die from medical malpractice each year than any other form of death.

PHD's that teach college have as much schooling and debt as any doctor. They serve a needed and valued place in society, teaching some of those same doctors, so why should they make so much less?

I don't buy that argument. The doctor is an adult,he or she made a choice , they went to school and they will break more than even .

As for the things they can do no one else can

How many doctors crawl int o a burning building and pull folks out

for 60 g's a year?

How many doctors would put themselves between you and a bullet for military pay

How many doctors will take part in a high speed chase and got shot at to catch a few felons, for police pay

I have no disrespect for doctors and do not diminish their importance in society. There are however equally important jobs, that keep us all healthy and safe, so I don't buy the part about doctors being worth all that much more because they save lives

If all those other mooks didn't intervene in the first place, putting themselves in danger the doctors would have a lot less patients to save

heart disease is the #1 killer of natural diseases

medical error #1 cause of accidental deaths

I'm sure there are conflicting studies no doubt published by the AMA
