Palomar Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Seen that my city is receiving a grant so they can put bicycle racks on the back of the public bus transportation. Is there something I missing here?? Of course its another way to spend money but, bicycle riders ride their bike, and not take a bus correct? Do any of you guys have this, I guess this may be just a norm for other city's Quote
nateobot Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I ride the bus from the suburbs to downtown Minneapolis. People frequently will ride their bike to the transit station, ride the bus downtown, then get back on their bike and ride to their office. Quote
farmpond1 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 After being caught behind hundreds of MTD buses as they stop at every blinkety blank city block, it really grates on my nerves to spend even more time waiting for folks to load and unload their bikes. Just a pet peeve of mine. Quote
Brute Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 They have those racks on the buses here in Tampa. You have to go take a class and get a permit before you can put your bike on the rack. I think they do this to keep the bike riders from delaying the bus. Brute Quote
Super User Marty Posted May 9, 2009 Super User Posted May 9, 2009 I've seen bike racks on buses here. Quote
Olebiker Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I have to ride my bike three miles to get to the closest bus stop. Quote
