CJ Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 I'm sure a lot of you are experiencing this rain. It has rained everyday here for a week! Ky. Lake is on a fast rise. TVA predicts it to be near 365 by Tuesday but the actual elevations have been ahead of their predictions. It has rose over 2 ft. in 2 days! Woohoo! Time to go fishing in the woods again!!! Quote
frogtog Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 I'm headed to Kentucky on the 24th for the Triton owners tournament out of Paris. I'm guessing we will have to do some adjusting for the high water? CJ if you know anything now is the time to give it up. : Quote

CJ if you know anything now is the time to give it up. : That's cool. I'm fishing that one so let's see...the bass should be biting 1/8 oz. rooster tails in about 120 ft. of water around then. : J/K I don't know how long the high elevations will last. As soon as they can they will let it go. The deal is though if the river gets to high, they gotta hold it. There was three different paterns working well last year when the lake came up like this. If you could find a place to get in behind the trees, spinnerbaits. The old lake line (359) was another good producer but, I flipped the bushes. Quote
frogtog Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 This sounds a lot like Kerr Lake at 305 ( My home lake ) so we ought to fit right in. Quote
preach4bass Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 There's a pretty good pattern for how to build an ark in Genesis 6. Quote
Captain Obvious Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 You got a few hundred years to spare? If so PM me and I'll send you the plans ;Dlol Quote
bmadd Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 CJ and Frogtog, I'll have to look for ya'll at that tournament. Our club helps Triton with boat checks, and the weigh-ins. As for the rain, I think we have at least a thirty percent chance everyday leading into next weekend Quote
Super User burleytog Posted May 3, 2009 Super User Posted May 3, 2009 We've recorded around 1.5" so far today, more on the radar heading this way. Makes for a fun night at work, that much is certain. Quote
Super User Micro Posted May 4, 2009 Super User Posted May 4, 2009 It's supposed to rain here every day this coming week. Yesterday and today it poured. First weekend I haven't fished at least some for several months. Saturday looks good. I'm off the week of May 11 so I hope the rain is gone by then. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted May 4, 2009 Super User Posted May 4, 2009 Chris, if you'll pay the freight charges I'll ship you my Ark. I got it finished just before we got 7" of rain. I didn't have time to load a bunch of animals, but I did see a couple of Hooters girls walking up the gangway. ;D Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 If I give you 2 Parakeets, 2 Pigeons and 2 Piping Plovers,..........can I have your old boat? 8-) Quote
TruflShufl Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 If you guys wanna see a fun one: http://www.swt-wc.usace.army.mil/FGIB.lakepage.html I had a BFL there this weekend. We floated over where my boaters truck was parked the day before. Most docks & slips were only accessible by boat. We were on one of the last boat ramps still open and I wouldn't doubt if it's closed today. This stuff is getting ridiculous. I have a college tournament on KY lake this coming weekend. Hope it gets back down some. (wishful thinking right? ;D) Also I went turkey hunting this morning by a smaller reservoir here in KS and a dried up river bottom I normally hunt in was FULL of water. I'm guessing 15-20 feet deep. Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted May 4, 2009 Super User Posted May 4, 2009 Build an Ark? Piece o' cake. 1. buy wood 2. assemble Ark 3. load creatures 4. launch Ark 5. eat creatures. 6. reload Quote
Super User burleytog Posted May 5, 2009 Super User Posted May 5, 2009 3" over the last four days. Forecast this morning said 30% chance of rain for the day, nothing on the radar. So I hit the lake to look for beds. Fished for 45 minutes, felt a few raindrops so I threw on my rainsuit. Glad I took it with me as the clouds opened not long after. Rode it out for about 45 minutes, never let up. At least I know my bilge pump still works. Quote
Pitchinkid Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 nice quote. keep wishing. We have disastrous flooding here the past 2 days. Creeks are really up and a lot of roads are completely shut down. Plum Orchard would be awesome to fish if i could get to it. Lilly pads were really starting to pop up good. I think they took a bunch out though. Quote
Olebiker Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 I have a garage full of gopher wood I'll make you a good deal on. Plus, I have a tape measure that is calibrated in cubits. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted May 5, 2009 Super User Posted May 5, 2009 6" last weekend and 4" on the way tomorrow. All the reservoirs on the Tennessee River are "spilling". The White River system attained record levels last year, but may be challenged again! Enough already! :-X Quote

Maybe some of those big smallies will chase the washed up bait down this way! Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted May 6, 2009 Super User Posted May 6, 2009 All "my" fish are stuck on your dam! 8-) Quote
harshman Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 No need for the Ark, God will not destroy the earth by those means ever again, we are reminded of this every time we see a rainbow. Harshman Quote
fivesixone Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Man, send some of that water down this way! My neighborhood lake is down lower than I've ever seen it!! Quote
