Super User burleytog Posted June 15, 2008 Super User Posted June 15, 2008 13 seconds of my life I'll never get back. You must have a terribly slow connection. If a thread title says 'MUST READ' or 'PLEASE READ', it is usually best to ignore it. :-X Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted June 15, 2008 Super User Posted June 15, 2008 Take it easy on him guys. There is a learning curve to this forum thing. Quote
Super User Micro Posted June 15, 2008 Super User Posted June 15, 2008 You must have a terribly slow connection. That included typing with itchy, watery eyes. Take it easy on him guys. There is a learning curve to this forum thing. You're right. I voted plastic worms. Because it has so many uses besides just fishing. Quote
rondef Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 This is dependent on the conditions and the time of day. I throw different baits for different conditions and times of day. Quote
TournyFish001 Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 I chose plastic worm. Live bait is cheating in the "sport" of bass fishing- skill is not as much of a factor and you have a greater chance of hurting a trophy fish that has swollowed your bait hook. Quote
Super User South FLA Posted June 15, 2008 Super User Posted June 15, 2008 Plastic worm is very versatile and can be fished on top, bottom, and mid levels so it is the BEST OVERALL, but that being said at specific times other lures or even live bait will work better. I have seen lures out catch live bait 5 to 1 and visa versa. Quote
Super User Tin Posted June 15, 2008 Super User Posted June 15, 2008 Jigs only have 2 votes? Wow, you guys need to learn the power of the jig. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted June 15, 2008 Super User Posted June 15, 2008 I answered "live bait". It's the only presentation that does the fishing and you do the catching. You can even take a nap after the cast and let the bait to the work. I don't use live bait as I prefer to do the fishing and the catching. Quote
Super User Alpster Posted June 15, 2008 Super User Posted June 15, 2008 Jigs only have 2 votes?Wow, you guys need to learn the power of the jig. I love jig fishing, but more bass have been caught on plastic worms than all other baits on this list combined. Ronnie Quote
CJ Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 It won't let me vote the way I want to. I vote for jigs, plastic worms. spinnerbaits, and crankbaits. I would say a jig but sometimes something else works better. Quote
Jake P Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Plastics got my vote however, they all have there time and place so don't forget about the others when fishing. Quote
Brian_Reeves Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 I voted plastic worm too. I can put it on a carolina rig, drop shot, weightless, jig, texas rig, flordia rig, and I can chase my kids around the house with them. It's just too dangerous to do that with a crankbait. Quote

Super User Catt Posted June 16, 2008 Super User Posted June 16, 2008 I voted plastic worm but it should be plastics of all varieties According to all the research data I've compiled over the last 30 years from tournament records and state big bass records here's the list. #1 Plastics #2 Jig-N-Trailers #3 Crank Baits #4 Spinner Baits #5 Live Baits #6 Spoons Quote
basser89 Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 I went with other. For year round conditions, a tube bait works for me 12 months out of the year for smallies and largemouths. When water gets above 50 degrees, I have to have a spinnerbait tied on! Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted June 16, 2008 Super User Posted June 16, 2008 I must admit I too voted for the plastic worm. Quote
ba7ss3in Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Maybe I'm missing something here but it's got to be live bait. It's banned in tournaments. That's why plastic baits catch more. Quote
Super User Catt Posted June 17, 2008 Super User Posted June 17, 2008 Live bait doesn't guarantee you'll catch bass; nothing does Trolling it outlawed in tournaments as well but trolling does not guarantee anything either Most anglers do not understand how to effectively use either Quote

Hahahahah those treble hooks are very dangerous... Quote
