Super User burleytog Posted April 16, 2009 Super User Posted April 16, 2009 now I know how those little teenage girls feel when they run into the Hansons or New Kids on the Block. Ryno is managing the AA Cubs affliate this year. Got a ball signed tonight, caught him in the parking lot after the game for this horrible photo. Guess the only reason to bring my wife to the games is to get a good photo. Going back in two weeks to get my HOF program signed. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted April 16, 2009 Super User Posted April 16, 2009 Pretty darn cool. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted April 16, 2009 Super User Posted April 16, 2009 Ryno looks quite happy despite being stalked in the parking lot. Quote
1inStripes Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Wow, times must be tough for Ryno since heading up the Sevierville team. I would have thought he could afford something better than flannel to wear after a ball game. I guess it could be worse, he could be wearing Cubs attire..... Quote
Pitchinkid Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Sandberg is the man, next to Grace, hes my favorite cub of all time Quote

Super User Sam Posted April 17, 2009 Super User Posted April 17, 2009 Yes, I remember Ryan Sandberg. Never would have recognized him. Good job, Burley. Quote
fish-fighting-illini Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Who is that guy with Burley? I have no idea. Me neither.... and I'm serious. You need to brush up on your baseball as this is probably the greatest 2nd baseman of all time. Top 5 minimum but the greatest due to his all around skills hitting and fielding. Quote
BUCKEYEone Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 I'm jealous, Burley!! Some of my fondest childhood memories (off the water) are of day games at Wrigley... of course there were no night games at Wrigley back then. : I think for the first 3 years my step-brother and I lived together we spent most of our time arguing who was the better player; for me it was Ryno, for him it was Andre Dawson. I think I finally won that argument! Great pic! I didn't know whether to shake his hand or wet my pants. Sandberg is easily my favorite baseball player of all time. Quote
Uncle Leo Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Who is that guy with Burley? I have no idea. Sam you must be a Sox Fan like me, I think that's Ozzie!!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew I should have punched you in the junk when I had the chance. Why for mistaking a Cubs cap for a Reds cap? What do you expect from a Sox fan? Maybe I shpuld ask? What do you mean by junk? That sounds painful in a good sense. Quote
fish-fighting-illini Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Burley you are going to like him. Ryno does a good job and handles himself extremely well in public. He was very involved in the community when he was here in Peoria. I regret that although I went to some games I didn't get his autograph or get to talk to him. He is one class act. They ought to send Bonds and a bunch of others to the Sandburg school of class! With you guys being WVA I don't know if your town will embrace him as much but they did here. His only drawback is staying in games lol. He got thrown out of quite a few. I'm sure he is trying to shed the good guy image so he gets some respect from the umps. Quote
1inStripes Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 There's enough that goes on in Pigeon Forge/Sevierville/Gatlinburg that Sandberg really won't have to do a lot with the community, but can get noticed very easily if he wants too. I still haven't went to that stadium yet, although it looks very nice from the outside, and Burley's photos I have seen. Quote
fish-fighting-illini Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Pigeon Forge eh? That kind of explains Burley. Hmmm Burley and Dolly Parton in the same picture I'm not sure we could handle that one! lol FFI - AKA Matt Crum Quote
