fish-fighting-illini Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 The Bears made a move for 2 legitimate players? They both come with risk but it is worth a shot. We gave up some draft picks but so what if we don't draft a Grossman, Salam or a bunch of other duds. Now if the Cubs had only gone forward instead of backwards! Ughh!! Quote
Uncle Leo Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 I believe the Bears finally picked up a QB who can make the offense as tough as the defense. THey did not lose much with Orton but them draft picks, oh boy who knows? Quote
Super User Root beer Posted April 3, 2009 Super User Posted April 3, 2009 My brothers a big Bear fan and he sort of predicted this. I cannot wait see how Jay Cutler does. Quote
jax Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 I'm not a Bears fan. Philly fan here. Only team you need to watch! I am glad they finally picked up a good QB. I'm tired of watching their defense do wonders just to watch the QB give it back. Only bad part is the Bears are like Philly now. Great QB. Descent Defense. No WRs to match. Good Luck to Cutler! Daniel A. Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 For the sake of my sanity, I hope the trade ends Cutler's whining. This kid has a lot of growing up to do. Quote

Would you work for someone who lied to you? Sure, the NFL is a business and people get traded all the time, but... If McDaniels came to Cutler and said "Look, I know you're a pro-bowl QB, but I've got a system I want to put in place here, and I don't think you'd fit in, so I'm going to bring someone else in," there wouldn't be a problem. But to wake up in the morning and see on the news that you almost lost your job, that's pretty upsetting. It's like that feeling you get when someone tells you your wife is cheating. You wonder "how many people knew about this before I did..." Quote

But to wake up in the morning and see on the news that you almost lost your job, that's pretty upsetting. It's like that feeling you get when someone tells you your wife is cheating. You wonder "how many people knew about this before I did..." We don't know factually if McDaniels lied to him. Repeatedly, McDaniels has stated he listened to an opportunity to improve his team, which is his responsibility. Cutler has whined, demanded to be traded, went AWOL, and now states he never wanted to be traded. Cutler also asked that Shanahan's staff be retained after the coach was fired. This kid thinks he's bigger than the team and has no clue what being a leader is about. Denver made the right move. ...but he didn't almost lose his job. He still would have been paid according to his contract (as he will be paid with the Bears). Had the Broncos told him they were committed to him privately and publicly, and then cut him, I would be more understanding. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted April 3, 2009 Super User Posted April 3, 2009 With Cutler and Forte on offense, the Bears just made them selves a legit contender in my book if they have some guys who can catch the ball. And I think they do. I don't see what Cutler did was so bad, heck, Elway didn't go where he was originally drafted. nor did Eli Manning. They whinned and got there way. I will say its the nature of the game to be traded, waived, and or cut at anytime. Intialally, Cutler was blind sided by the news, and thats a blow to most egos wouldn't you think? Cutler did force their hands in the end with his putting his house up for sale and his lack of comminication with mangagement. Quote
Tom H. Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 Let's see here. 27 different starting QB's since '86. I think they made the right move on this one. At least now we have a real QB (hopefully). Anyone is better than Grossman. Now we just have to put some more recievers around him and I think we just might have a chance to make the playoffs and possibly go to another superbowl in a few years. Quote
Pitchinkid Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 Any team dumb enough to get rid of Mike Shanahan deserves to have a blind monkey with one leg and a sever case of leoparcy as its quarterback. Im glad Cutler came to my boys in Chicago and im stoked to see what he can do. Broncos organization is headed for crapper. GO BEARSSS! Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted April 4, 2009 Super User Posted April 4, 2009 This gives me a reason to dislike the Bears even more, as I've disliked that punk since he was drafted. Quote
detroit1 Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Denver made out on this one. At least the bears might have a qb i could jeer at. Quote
jeremyt Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Denver is the true winner in this deal, Cutler is a cry baby, oh poor me my team might trade me. The kid is full of him self i.e "my arm is better than Elways" who cares until you win some more games. I bet he flops with the Bears this year and they win no more than 8 games. If I am wrong someone let me know and I will eat my crow. Quote
aceman387 Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 he says he is happy to be in chicago but the one associated press picture of him holding up the bears jersey he has a look on his face like he is holding up a smelly diaper. Quote
joshuaryan Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 IMHO the Bears overpaid for a cry baby. Superbowl or bust! Quote

Super User Gone_Phishin Posted April 5, 2009 Super User Posted April 5, 2009 Cutler?!!? pshhhh aint no match against my Rodgers this year baby!!! WOOOOHOOO! GO GREEN BAY!!! Man, I hope your right. I can't wait to see GB clean this kid's clock. Cutler tosses up a lot of stupid stuff too. The seasoned GB secondary should have a lot of fun with him. I am going to take this opportunity to hate on Cutler again: he's a douchenozzle. There, I feel a little better. Quote
