Well .... I HATE RICH KIDS WHOS PARENTS GIVE THEM EVERYTHING! I work as a auto tech and guess whats sitting in my bay a Hummer H2 (POS To begin with) With 26in Rims... YEAH.. .26's Custom Asanti's .... Has to be at least 3-4 Grand for the rims, And daddy bought it for him to go to school with .

WOW I hate changing these things and they are all young teens ... Like they need a car worth my house value?

Anyone else Hate HUGE RIMS? Sorry i had to get it out... THANK GOODNESS FOR KENTUCKY ROADTRIP!

I agree, an H2 with 26" rims for a kid is overboard.

BUT!  its his business, his money, his kid.  Saying he's a brat just because you have to change his wheels for him or sit in your bay and pass judgment is pretty silly, if you ask me.

I mean, its your job, man!  Just get it done.  My work output goes to people that make three times as much as me, and can't add single digits in their head.  Am I jealous?  No.

Screw them, most will get what they deserve. Just this week a handful of the $500,000+ a year kids got suspended. Another cant drive untill hes 18. This one girl got drunk at a party and wet herself and is trying to sue the person who had the party. The list goes on...

You don't know that the kid is a brat. He may be, but if his dad can afford it, why the heck not? For all you know, he's the nicest kid in the world and truly appreciates what he has. If he's a d-bag, then by all means, vent away.

Odds are, the father has worked his butt off to be able to spoil his kid, and it's his money, so let him do with it what he wants.

For the record, I am not, nor was I, one of those kids. My first car was a used Mercury Sable that was less than $2K and I felt like the luckiest kid in the world because my mom bought it for me and I actually had a car that worked, unlike a some of my friends.

No J  its the Mentality that he comes and complains about the price. .. And its not my JOB concidering the fact im getting 5per tire. Im a Technician not a tire changer.

I dont have a problem wit the money he has or how he spends it i have a problem with the fact he comes in thinking he owns my shop and tells ME how to do it. The Fact that he thinks that our prices are "Redicioulous" and that he will go somewhere else if we cant do them in the time frame he wants them done in. Which is a half hour...

Now tell me if im wrong but thats why he is a Stuck up Rich snob. If he just wanted them changed And bought the tires from me rather than from another place and brings them to my shop it would be differant. I dont have a problem changing them. Heck i have done 24's all day but to force the machine to take on 26 for what we are making .... NO.

Well...he didn't get rich by overpaying, LOL.  You just sound jealous to me, and I know that ain't you.  You know what I'm saying?

Posted

Well if he's being a *****, then by all means. I thought you were judging him simply based on the fact that he's a teenager who has an expensive car.

Guys go easy, I am the one who called the kid a brat not BTech. Reason being is that when a man services you you need to respect him for providing a service. If the kid did not earn that money he did not earn the right to be disrespectful. Has little to do with being rich more to do with earning the right.

No id be jelous if it was a 09 F350 with Mickythompsons and Nitto Tera Graplers :) Which i have lol.

He thinks he is a Gangster so no where close to being jelous.

Btech I deal with the same crap every day.  people try to wheel and deal all the time.  I tell them,  gotta keep the lights on.

I try not to take offense from it. My clients will nickle and dime us. I give them the honest price, if they can't handle, I tell them they will need to go elsewhere for that price. Some do, some don't, the ones that do usually come back to get it done right.

It is your job to do the job for as much as you can, it is high job to try to get you to do it for as little as possible. Take it personal, and you will end up going postal sooner or later.

I will say this...I an VERY thankful I no longer deal with the general public. I used to when I was a McD's (4.5 years) and a  dealership (2 yrs), and there were many times I wanted to go on a killing spree.

Just vent, and do not take it personal, unless they make it personal.

Enjoy Kentucky though man, I am jealous I will not be out there with you all. How's the boat BTW?

Yeah i know i just need to deal with them but thats why i had to Vent the steam out of me here.

It was when i told him his centercaps were rusted in and needed some lube on them and he threw a fit saying Sea foam would ruin his rims that got me i think. Now that he is gone im ok. :) ITS FISHIN TIME!

I work on everything from 30 year old tugboats to 120' megayachts and everything in between. It's all good.

The yacht owners would surprise you. A great majority of them are down to earth decent people. Most of them made their dough the old fashioned way, they worked their butts off. You can tell who made their money by working for it vs who inherited it. The ones who worked for it are usually easier to deal with. The trust fund babies want you to carry their pissbucket. Thank God they are few and far between.

Of course I've had my share of *#%%@ to deal with at times, haven't we all ? They end up being the best stories to tell over some beers with your buddies.

LMAO dude could be maybe rephrase the "when a man services you" statement.  ;D ;D ;D (sorry mods, I couldn't resist)

But to the point... if the kid is a massive jack@$$ because he thinks hes better than the "common folk" that's one thing, but if you have the money I don't see a problem with spoiling your kid as long as they are good kids and understand the hard work that it took to be able to afford things like expensive cars.

Good to hear. yeah every job has them. When I worked in a hospital cafeteria way back, we raised all prices 1%. Now nobody liked it, but guess who complained the LOUDEST. The doctors, of course. The folks to whom the cost was nothing, went beserk. A couple threatened to leave the hospital over it. Now the nurses and orderlies to whom it actually made a difference, they just knew, it was what it was. Used to tick me off.

Go home, get yourself a cold one, and shrug 'em off. Also, I will be looking for some good pics of the fish too.

Doctors got heated over 1% on cafeteria food???????? What does that equate to on your average ticket item? .2 cents?? :D

The kid sounds like a poseur.  I would encourage his foolishness....might be entertaining.  He needs 26" Sprewells.
