smallie.huntin Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Sales and account management for a national metal distribution company. Sounds boring but its the people that make the job. Also the benefits are great. Been there for about 8 months and still love going in everyday. Before that I worked installing fire sprinkler systems in new and old buildings. Good job as well but at 23 I knew it wasn't what I was going to do for the rest of my life. Quote

toolpush Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Toolpusher (rig supervisor) on an on-land oil/gas drilling rig. Last week I was a driller for 7 days as the recent downturn has our rigs going up and down (stacked out). I'm good in this position for at least the next 10 days, then maybe back to drilling, depending on when one of our rigs finishes up, if they find more work. I am hoping I don't end up as a roughneck or even worse laid-off, but I don't see that happening as our company is the best in the area. Safety,Safety Safety. Deeper, Cheaper. Quote

WV Bass Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 I'm a lawyer. Hours are long and the job is stressful (everything a lawyer does has a deadline). Most of the time I enjoy it. If it wasn't for jerk judges and clients with unrealistic expectations I would enjoy it all of the time. Right now the practice of law is one of the most competitive businesses anywhere and it is only going to get more competitive. It's a difficult way to make a living but it does pay the bills and when you are able to help someone it makes you feel good about what you do. Quote
