SimonSays Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 About 2 years ago I bought a huge lot of 3/0 -5/0 ewg superline worm hooks for pretty cheap. I'm starting to run low. Where do you guys get your hooks from? Are there other brands besides Owner or Gamakatsu that makes quality hooks for less? Thanks! Quote
Davis Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Hookerz tackle makes some pretty decent hooks for the price. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted June 16, 2008 Super User Posted June 16, 2008 Save money somewhere else, don't skimp on hooks! Besides Owner and Gamakatsu, the XPoint is another to consider. 8-) Quote
Super User Catt Posted June 16, 2008 Super User Posted June 16, 2008 Excuse me but Mustad makes outstanding hooks Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted June 16, 2008 Super User Posted June 16, 2008 Excuse me but Mustad makes outstanding hooks Oops! I meant to add Mustad to my list, too. GMAN uses the brand on his jigs... they are dyn-o-mite! 8-) Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 stamina sells some styles in bulk. I bought some Gamies awhile back from them. It really depends on how many you are going to buy. Shopping around for awhile on the net might save some bucks. Quote
hawgchaser Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 I tried to an off brand once and learned a lesson. I kept having fish shake me off( Im talking 5 or 6) before i realized i was using different hooks. Put my gammies on and didn't lose another. I am comfortable using gamakatsu, owner, mustad, and one brand whos name is escaping me right now. EDIT: I realize you were asking about QUALITY hooks so my response didn't really fit your question. But no unfortunately i don't of anywhere. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted June 16, 2008 Super User Posted June 16, 2008 I buy mine 1000 at a time from Shortys. They have a retail online store. http://www.captainhookswarehouse.com/ Quote
jvox Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 I agree with RW man. Keep them Gamas tied on and save your money somewhere else. Quote
