daviscw Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 I haven't heard any of the LSU "fans" comment on the whipping by UNC. Do y'all go off and hide when it ain't football season??? ;D Quote
Super User Tin Posted March 23, 2009 Super User Posted March 23, 2009 I really thought they were going to knock them off. Had UNC going down in the second round again.... But they didn't screw me half as much as WV.... dam you Jimzee... Quote
atx_newbie Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 We just aren't really basketball people in Louisiana. It's a football state. That being said, yes our basketball team at LSU is generally pretty embarrassing, so that might be why we're football people... Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted March 24, 2009 Super User Posted March 24, 2009 LSU fan or not; there are only two seasons - football season and NASCAR season. Basketball and baseball are merely fluff, designed to fill in the blanks between the two seasons. My statement is not open for argument. We are the Borg. You will be assimilated. Quote

Mike, have you seen on ESPN the new "no hit" rules they are trying to pass in the NFL? Is that really football? No, that is sissyball. Quote
Super User Catt Posted March 24, 2009 Super User Posted March 24, 2009 UNC whipping LSU in basketball is kinda like LSU whipping Appy State in football it's expected. 84-70 aint exactly 41-13 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 24, 2009 Super User Posted March 24, 2009 Well, since it would be hard for any SEC fan to root for the Big Twelve or any of its THREE representatives, you're welcome to jump on the Memphis Tiger's bandwagon. There's plenty of room and you will always be on the side of the underdog! 8-) Quote
ring fry Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 I'll jump on your bandwagon for about 2 hours on Thursday. After that you're on your own. Probably won't happen, but wouldn't mind playing y'all again this year. ROCK CHALK Quote
Super User Sam Posted March 24, 2009 Super User Posted March 24, 2009 No, we don't hide. It is just that basketball is something to keep us busy until spring football. Then baseball keeps us somewhat entertained until football season. We are proud of our basketball teams. Both men and women. And LSU showed some of the UNC weaknesses that I am sure the other schools noticed. Come on over for a night football game in Tiger Stadium. It sure beats a stadium that can't be higher than the surrounding trees. ;D ;D ;D 92,000 drunk Coonasses can't be wrong. Quote
daviscw Posted March 25, 2009 Author Posted March 25, 2009 Catt, you haven't seen our new stadium have you?? We are in the process of adding 4,000 seats. We set attendace records every game for 1AA football last year. I think we averaged about 40,000 in a town with a population of about 26,000 with a student population of about 16,000. Hippies can drink too! I'm no UNC fan, I just think it's funny the LSU fans are quiet. Quote
Super User Catt Posted March 25, 2009 Super User Posted March 25, 2009 Dude you're talking basketball Here's how a couple Cajuns discuss basketball Seen da tigers play UNC? Saw the high lites Not bad Yelp Been to the lake? Tomorrow Me too Quote
daviscw Posted March 25, 2009 Author Posted March 25, 2009 Haha, Sam brought it up. Just like my point, y'all can't talk about anything other than the beloved football team. Is that a real fan??? Quote
Super User Catt Posted March 25, 2009 Super User Posted March 25, 2009 College Football is OWNED by the SEC SEC is 5 of 11 BCS Championships With 3 in-a-row Beating the greatest college teams with the greatest college coaches Bobby Bowden's Florida State Seminoles Bob Stoop's Oklahoma Sooners & Jim Tressel's Ohio State Buckeyes TWICE! So yea will talk football Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted March 25, 2009 Super User Posted March 25, 2009 If it wasn't for college football, most colleges couldn't afford to have a basketball program. So yes, how could you have a college bball thread without mentioning football? lol Quote
bmadd Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 The SEC isn't really known for College Mens Basketball. Now on the Women's side it's a little different. Quote
