Spring officially arrives at 7:44 EDT on Friday, March 20.

Will someone please tell the fish that they are in their spring pattern? ;D ;D ;D

Oh, how I've waited for spring to arrive. I don't think you southerners realize how incredibly psyched I am for bass fishing this spring. My elevated spring excitement almost makes the long wait worth it. Almost.

I"m gonna hit a pond right after I get off work at 1:30 and try to catch em before this front hits.  The wind is dead calm right now and it's 56* outside.  It just feels fishy!  If the weather holds out next week I'll have the jon boat out 3-4 times by the end of the week.  Bass should be moving up great right now.  Did I mention I FREAKIN' LOVE SPRINGTIME WEATHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

We southerners don 't get it, for us it 's only more or less hours of daylight to fish.  ;)

Raul, does your length of daylight even change that much?  For us, we actually have VERY long days leading up to and just after summer solstice.

Yes, we pick up a few hours of light in the summer.  In about june, we can launch at 5:30-5:40 am and see...  and it gets dark after 9:30 pm.  In the short months, it's like 7am to about 5pm.  A huge difference for those of us that fish weeknights after work...

I can get 4+ hours of light in summer and it's dark before I get home from work in the winter.

I always have it in my head that TX, and Mexico are "on the Equator," when in reality, they are not.  Up here, the difference in daylight hours per day is remarkable between winter and summer.

Being able to fish for a couple hours after work makes my life much much better. It gives me something to look forward to all day at work, and it's a great way to unwind and have a great time after work.

It's so depressing in the fall/winter when fishing after work is just not possible. The days go by much more slowly...but I don't have to worry about that again until October  ;D
