Eddie Munster Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 when buying appliances. Just dropped $3,000.00 on a LG washer/dryer combo. Yeah I know it's a lot but I don't do laundry and I don't want her telling me what I need as far as tools/lures go. Just doing my part to spark the economy I guess. Actually after the hailstorm in mid February, we got a new roof, gutters, downspouts and gutter screens for $0.00 Gotta love that. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 3k on washer/dryer. WOW!. I'm sure it will save you more in the long run on using less soap, water, energy, clothing hardship. So that will give you more tackle money. ;D Quote
dallas0996 Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Those HE units are wicked nice and supposed to make clothes last longer as well...We picked up a Whirlpool set the middle of last year and my wife is unbelievably happy with them...she almost likes doing laundry... ;D Quote
Eddie Munster Posted March 18, 2009 Author Posted March 18, 2009 Bought LG versions with the underneath storage ($200.00 a piece) and with my birthday coming up I thought it might be a good idea to let her know her happiness was most important to me. http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&productId=100608614&N=10000003+90401 http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&productId=100608618&N=10000003+90401 Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted March 19, 2009 Super User Posted March 19, 2009 Just last week, my wife informed me that she wanted the same washer/dryer combo. With everybody jumping on the "green" bandwagon, maybe it's a good decision. Falcon Quote
Eddie Munster Posted March 19, 2009 Author Posted March 19, 2009 Eddie, Your reasoning on the hailstorm sounds like my wife. 0 dollars....really? Where did you find free homeowner's insurance? b Yeah yeah, I know there's no such thing as a free lunch but an 11 year old roof getting replaced with a better one (dimensional shingle upgrade) for what I'm paying in premiums is still a great deal. Besides, I'd still have to pay those premiums. Quote
farmpond1 Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Hate to be the bearer of bad news but isn't LG Korean? Well, you're sparking some country's economy, anyway. Hope they work better than my cell phone. Quote

"Tools" is good, Just be sure you do not use the "lure" part of that analogy. I know what my wife would say..."So you think laundry is my hobby then?"...argument ensues..... Sounds like you have the same ones we got, do they "sing" when they are done?. It sucked paying that much but really they are faster than our old ones and she can get a LOT more done at once which with 4 kids is a plus. Quote

None of the insurance companies are that good to their clients around here! Anyway, you did well. CJ Quote
