Super User Sam Posted March 13, 2009 Super User Posted March 13, 2009 Starting on March 30, Metalica will have its own channel for one month. At least that is what I thought I heard on Sirius yesterday. There goes Dave S's mind for a month. ;D ;D ;D Quote
Super User Sam Posted March 13, 2009 Author Super User Posted March 13, 2009 Paragon, Does it start on the 14th or 30th? I need to tell Dave S. so he can skip school and listen to the station all day long. Quote
Bassboy15 Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 I thought Dave had some kind of sensor on here that detects the word "Metalica".....yet no reply Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted March 14, 2009 Super User Posted March 14, 2009 my sensor detects "Metallica" not "Metalica", because if it says Metalica then the sensor knows its somebody who obviously doesn't know what they're talking about metallica used to have a station before xm/sirius joined, but then it went away. anyone know why they're only getting a station for a month? Quote
bmadd Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Because that's all they can afford to have one for. They're almost out of all the money they got from crying about Napster and it's absolutely ridiculous to think they make anything off of record sales anymore. Only two people would listen to it anyway, Dave and Lars : Quote
Dean Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Awesome, something else besides Octane to listen to. 8-) Quote
thetr20one Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Thanks to Howard Stern who claimed "I never want mhy listeners to pay to hear me" and his $500 million dollar contract. Sirius is problably gonna do anything they can to get subscribers. A news report a couple weeks back said Sirius was in bad shape and talking merger with XM I think. They were losing $25 million a quarter in the first couple years after signing Stern. I like Metallica and own every cd they have ever put out but, they are not the most interesting group of guys to here speak. James can be but, Lars is full of himself and Kirk says virtuallly nothing. Does anybody even know or care about their new bassist? Quote

Fish Man Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 anyone know why they're only getting a station for a month? Im going to take a stab in the dark and guess that its becasue they're overrated sellouts Quote
paragon Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 I think that it starts today @1. They like all he others ( stones, who, etc) are usually only on because they have cd coming out or somthing like that. Metallica doesn't need to sell their music they make all their money on their merch. I like Pantera but I have always been into Tool. Quote

Super User Dan: Posted March 16, 2009 Super User Posted March 16, 2009 Yeah, I was gonna say...I thought they merged a while ago. The recent news I had heard was that they were in trouble and about to go bankrupt... http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/11/technology/companies/11radio.html Quote
