Super User burleytog Posted February 28, 2009 Super User Posted February 28, 2009 20 years of sitting on hard bleachers has caught up with me. If you've ever seen the King of the Hill episode where the mower races come to Heimlich Co., then you know what DGS is. Diminished Gluteal Syndrome affects many across the world. It is also know as 'The Flatass'. Sufferers of this debilitating condition find it hard to sit on hard surfaces for extended periods of time due to the lack of padding. All the pressure is on the coccyx. After sitting through two games tonight, I could barely sit for the drive home. Excruciating pain to say the least. Even a 1.5" thick piece of foam didn't help. Anyone want to chip in and get me some butt implants? Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted February 28, 2009 Super User Posted February 28, 2009 i'm not going to chip in for butt implants for fear of some right-wing wacko driving up next to you and popping them with a knife ;D Quote
1inStripes Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Its too bad every school wouldn't just get stadium seating although games would be a lot quieter. I hated setting through the one game at RC the other night because of the bleachers and I am blessed with a nice backside. Quote
Super User Sam Posted February 28, 2009 Super User Posted February 28, 2009 Are you allowed to bring a stadium seat, with a back, into the fieldhouse? You can get them down at Virginia Tech and they are somewhat comfortable. Maybe you need to see a plastic surgeon and ask him to put some "trash in your trunk." ;D ;D ;D Quote
frogtog Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 I know where you are coming from, all of the Matthews were born that way. We invented the drooping pants that you see today. ;D Quote
nick76 Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Maybe you need to get one of those donut shaped inflatables for hemorrhoids. Now that would be funny. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted February 28, 2009 Super User Posted February 28, 2009 Hmmm.... We'll have to discuss our Tuesday outing at KY lake. I'm in the middle of my boat restoration and I was going to put one of these on a pedestal on the back deck as the fishing seat. The kneeler that comes with it isn't shown. I was going to put that there so my back deck fishing partner can pray that I don't kick his butt too bad in fishing. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted February 28, 2009 Super User Posted February 28, 2009 Well you could always wear several layers of underwear. And in case you had an accident while out you could just shed the layer closest to you. I better quit now. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted February 28, 2009 Super User Posted February 28, 2009 lmao, when I read the thread title I immediately thought of that episode of King of the Hill. I have a big rear end and I can't stand bleachers for very long. If foam didn't help then you might just have to stand. Quote

Sat there for 8 hours and only my knees bothered me at halftime of the fourth game. Thank God they made VHS the permanent championship site. I couldn't have taken four games at Cwood, Clinchco or Clintwood. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted March 2, 2009 Super User Posted March 2, 2009 Burley, I see Honaker and Lee advanced to the div 2 girls state tournament from Region D. My sister's team won the Region B tournament. Her team is on the other side of the bracket but they might meet up with Lee or Honaker at VCU if they make it to the finals. Have you seen Lee or Honaker play? Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 2, 2009 Super User Posted March 2, 2009 Maybe you could strike up a conversation with some of the "spandex ladies" at your local Wal-Mart. They might have some advice. These gals do not suffer flat butt syndrome! 8-) Quote

Have you seen Lee or Honaker play? I just looked at the bracket and noticed that Mason advanced. Watched the Lee/Honaker game Saturday. Honaker impressed me and Lee didn't show all that much. I'm not much of a girl's basketball mind, but Honaker has a pretty darn good team. Their best player can put 25-30 on the board pretty quickly. They play pretty smart ball. Quote
1inStripes Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Both will have a hard time advancing I am afraid. Floyd lost in Region C to play Honaker, but they are a flat out juggernaut of girls basketball. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted March 3, 2009 Super User Posted March 3, 2009 Yeah, Mason absolutely killed Randolph Henry in the Region B final. RH was unbeaten until then and I think they may have been unprepared for a good opponent. Mason lost to Floyd in the state playoffs last year. They are a solid team. I heard the game they lost against Radford was called in Radford's favor. George Mason doesn't like Radford too much, there is a soccer rivalry that gets pretty heated and lots of the girls on the soccer team also play basketball. I've heard Lancaster from Region A is pretty good too. Apparently they have one player that is crazy good. Should be interesting as far as Group A women's basketball goes... I really wouldn't care at all if my sister's team wasn't in it. I wish the games didn't have so much time between them. It's annoying that the quarters and semis are a whole week apart and then the final is the day after the semis... Quote

It seems like it used to be that the quarters were on Tuesday nights and then the semis and finals were on Friday/Saturday. Playing the finals at VCU is a mess as well but alas. I just wish my alma mater was still in it. George Mason Mustangs? Had a friend in college from there, that was a runningback for them. Tough little bugger. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted March 3, 2009 Super User Posted March 3, 2009 I don't see why they don't just do it like the Region tournaments were setup. Quarters on Tuesday, Semis on Thursday, and Championship on Saturday. I guess they don't want the kids to have to travel that much during the week. By having the games on the weekends, the students won't miss as much school. The teams from Region C and D would have a heck of a drive and would undoubtedly miss all of school for Tuesday and Thursday games. Yup, George Mason Mustangs. Stupid mascot but what can you do... Sorry for grave digging but I just wanted to make sure 1instripes and Burley saw the results. Quote

Super User burleytog Posted March 16, 2009 Author Super User Posted March 16, 2009 I stop paying attention unless my team is in the Final Four. Mostly because I hate Richmond and the VCU campus. But that's another story for another day. That and Ken Tilley owes me $125. Quote
