atx_newbie Posted March 7, 2009 Author Posted March 7, 2009 I thought about putting Boldin up there, but I think he just benefits from the double-teams that Fitzgerald draws. Not that he isn't a great receiver, but I think Fitz effects the opponent's gameplan a lot more. You could have a point with Calvin Johnson, and I thought about putting him up there. I just have to admit that I haven't seen a Lions game in quite a while, so I don't really have much to go on there. I'll give you Andre Johnson and Marshall, though I think that if you can't win games for your team, you shouldn't be considered a top-tier player. I think team success has to figure in when you are looking at the effectiveness of a single player. Quote
1inStripes Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Theres not much of a difference between 9-7 and 8-8. Quote
1inStripes Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Well neither one has much of a chance of making the playoffs unless said team is in a chitty division. No harm on the b..l busting. I'll just make video torchuring some of your baits one day and post. ;D Quote
Super User CWB Posted March 7, 2009 Super User Posted March 7, 2009 1) Who Cares. 2) Who Cares. He's been a cancer everywhere he's been so it is inevitable he'll end up on the Bears. Quote
Super User CWB Posted March 7, 2009 Super User Posted March 7, 2009 Although I don't really care about the Cowboys cutting him I think people give T.O. too much heat. Yes he's a standoffish individual but he is an amazing natural athlete that is one of the best to ever play the game at his position and he will no doubt be a Hall of Famer one day. Plus he may be a bad sport and stuff but he stays on the straight and narrow and is never in trouble with the police. I agree. Compared to the trouble that so many other athletes are getting themselves into, we should be praising T.O. And he will be playing next year. He's one of the best 10 receivers playing today, even if he has lost a step or two. Heck, just look at Manny Ramirez for a perfect example. Everyone in baseball hates him, but they love his batting production. That explains why so many teams went after Ramirez. A wise man once said, there is no I in team. Quote

This comes up every 3 years. I'm tired of hearing about T.O. getting dumped, Shaq flopping in front of Dwight Howard, and I could care less about A-Rods cyst that he probably cheated to get. Quote
Fishing Doug Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 ESPN just announced TO signed a 1 yr deal with the Bills...didn't take long for someone to take a chance on him... Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted March 7, 2009 Super User Posted March 7, 2009 I feel for Trent Edwards. Quote
bass or bass ? Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 If he had gone nowhere I would have said good riddence. Our Cardinals have the classiest wideout in the game in Larry Fitzgerald. 8-) Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~ Quote

I was hoping T.O. would go someplace where he would be forgotten. I guess since he went to the Bills that's even better. ;D Quote

As a lifelong Bills fan it pains me to say it, but atx is right. The Bills haven't needed T.O. to miss the playoffs for the past 10 years. I don't foresee this changing anything. Quote
Dean Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 The bills may actually give the patriots a run for their money! Hopefully TO will break his own record on dropping passes! ;D Quote
Super User 5bass Posted March 9, 2009 Super User Posted March 9, 2009 T.O. to the Bills makes no sense. Trent Edwards is not the QB for T.O. What were the Bills thinking? Quote
ROCbass Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 What were the Bills thinking? I've been asking the same thing since they fired Wade Phillips. Quote
atx_newbie Posted March 9, 2009 Author Posted March 9, 2009 I have a lot of cousins from Buffalo, and they're all excited. I would be too if I were a Bills fan. At least your team is showing that they are willing to do what it takes to get winning talent on the team. Quote
ROCbass Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 I am excited deep down, but at the same time I don't want to get too optimistic. I made that mistake last season when they were 5-1 and I thought there was no way they could mess it up and not make the playoffs. And we all know what happened from there... Quote

Super User Gone_Phishin Posted March 9, 2009 Super User Posted March 9, 2009 Perhaps T.O. really is a humanitarian, and wants to let Scott Norwood off the hook as the most infamous player in Bills history. Yup that's it. I'm sure the two had a nice dinner and chat the day before T.O. signed. What a guy. Quote
bigmountaineer Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 I am anxious to see if they cowboy's production at WR falls off. I know when he left SF and PHI they next year they blew at WR. I guess we'll wait and see... Quote
