Today i lost a dear friend too soon; Joe Rushing.

Joe died today from a long battle with cancer; over 25 years this man has beat it, but this time, it won.

I say too soon as it's only been less than 9 years since i met the man.

Joe was one of those rare persons that we meet in life that one can learn something from, everytime you spent the time to listen.

The man could build anything, fix anything, or figure out a way for anything to work, and i mean anything.

As a fisherman, Joe seemed to always go for catfish; if you ask anybody about the local river, Joe's the man.

d**n, i'm gonna miss him.

Time is such a precious thing that i take for granted..............

Real shame. You dont understand how much you like someone until they are gone.

A friend of mine had a cousin die just a few days ago. The boy was only 16.

I thought it was real cool that we had about 8 guys from our football team go the the funeral.

Again im very sorry for your loss.

Nothing can describe the feeling when you lose a close friend. I lost a very close friend last September due to a car accident. He was an awesome friend. He loved fishing just as much as I do, and he was good at it also. I will never forget the times we spent. When my friend passed away, we each took our favorite fishing lure and put them all in a box. They now rest with him. And like Catfishking said, you dont realize how much someone means to you until they are gone.

I am sorry for your loss. Ill keep you in my prayers and I hope everything goes ok for you.

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss.  Good friends are hard to find, and even tougher to loose.  What an honor it was to know him though! You're a lucky man to have had a friend like that.  Take solace in knowing your friendship isn't over, just paused temporarily.  He'll be there to greet you when your time comes to cross over.

You have some great memories to carry you forward.

It is comforting to sit by a river, pond or lake on a beautiful, breezy and sunny summer day and remember your friend and the things you all did together.

Very sorry for his passing.

He fought a courageous battle with a very powerful foe.

Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Sorry to hear that, he will always be with you when you fish that river. Smiling down when you land one. God Bless
