Super User firefightn15 Posted March 6, 2009 Super User Posted March 6, 2009 The Dead Milkmen The same day I heard of them, the guy I had driving my milk truck got pinned between the truck and milkhouse and was crushed. Never found a soft spot in my heart for that group. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted March 6, 2009 Super User Posted March 6, 2009 My band opened for them back in '89 or '90, and they were just as weird as their name. Harmless, but weird - and that's coming from a guy that had a two foot blue Mohawk back then, LOL. Quote

farmpond1 Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Butthole Surfers ;D Ha! That's a great name! I always smile when I see that one. I've never seen (or heard) the band itself so this is heresay, I understand there was once a band called "Minstrel Cycles." No kiddin'! Quote

Joe Generra released an album last year, and AFAIK is still alive. Dave Schulthise committed suicide in 2004. Metaphysical Graffiti wasn't released until '89, and they toured non stop after that album was a hit. http://www.fistolo.com/Catalog.html - third album down. EDIT: look what I just found: http://www.deadmilkmen.com/dmffa/viewtopic.php?t=5250. New Milkmen album! LOL. Quote

Oops, I meant my truck driver Joe was killed in 88-89. Thanks for short bio though. Always wondered how far these guys went. Quote

Funny how things change. Funny how they stay the same. I heard "Punk Rock Girl" on the radio a few weeks ago, and laughed. Quote

Super User CWB Posted March 7, 2009 Super User Posted March 7, 2009 I could go through my collection which spans about 40 years and come up with about 200 names but 2 that jump out at me are The Dead Kennedys and ChumbaWumba. (neither of which I own). Maybe obscure names get obscure bands noticed. Quote
