Would you buy a Chrysler?

Given the myriad of issues that they are facing and the real threat of bankruptcy would you buy one and hope that the warranty is honored?

Nope, and this is one issue I still drive my 04 silverado. I've been wanting a new truck but not right now. Its out of warranty and a good possibility a new one would be in a few months too.  But the only thing that I think would save them is if they did file is to still fix warranty issues.  Other wise they would be completely done.

Nope. I'm a Chevy guy but would buy a Ford if I had to right now just because up until this point they have not had their hand out.

I'm not in any hurry, just wondering if the potential bankruptcy of Chrysler would affect one's decision to purchase a new Chrysler vehicle.

I'm thinkin that the risk of losing warranty coverage would be pretty small as any bankruptcy filing would likely proceed with gov't assistance.  However, there is a risk that a warranty would not be honored and that has me concerned.

Nothing but problems. In itself, that is something I can look past cause EVERY company screws up. It is how they handle the screw ups that makes me a customer or  not. They have nickle and dimed me to death on this van . Fought warranty work every step, and with the sheer number of different issues, just been nothing but unhelpfull.

To your original point though, I would not buy Chevy either. I have always owned GM, except for the van, and I just have no confidence my warranty would be worth anything.

Hmm, this is my biggest concern too.  We're trying to decide between the Town and Country and the Sienna.  The Sienna is a bit more comfortable, but the Town and Country has better interior features.  The warranty issues on the Town and Country leave me greatly concerned even though I think it unlikely that the gov't will allow Chrysler to completely dissappear.

We had a Chrysler minivan that we couldnt kill. I used to drive it to the river to fish before I had my license. We ended up donating it to Goodwill. Would I buy a Chrysler? No, I like Fords.

Potential bankruptcy of Chrysler wouldn't be a concern for me.  On the other hand the fact that they are the absolute cheapest built thing on the road and not really worth the money would keep me from buying one anytime.

I wouldn't buy a new Chrysler at all.  Ford guy, but with the issue of possible bankruptcy, and the fact that their vehicles the last 10 years have had a ton of problems, I dont think I will even consider them with a pending purchase later in the year.

My wife had to have a '08 Sebring.  What a POS!!!  We had it 17 months and when we traded it off last week it had 7800 miles.  I would only drive it if FORCED.

I owned one Chrysler product and will never make that mistake again!!!  The stupid things will nickle and dime you to death!

You couldn't give me a Chrysler. We had a charger for a rental it had the 3.5 liter and couldn't get out of it's own way and was cheaply made. Besides that they rust like no other. The new Challengers are sexy but, with the new Camaros coming out I'll pass on those too.

I've owned a lot of Chrysler products over the years and I have had some problems with some of them.  However, the dealer, probably the best I had ever seen, took care of them.  Unfortunately he is no longer in business because Chrysler forced him out because he was small and didn't have all the Chrysler brands.  I never fought for warranty work and even when it was out of warranty, the dealer worked with me.

Right now I have an '05 Jeep with 68,000 miles on it and an '05 Durango with over 50,000 miles.  The Durango has never had 1 thing, not 1, ever done to it, except oil.  Not even brakes. We drove that thing to Florida, non stop, and it never missed a beat and got 20 mpg from that 5.7 liter Hemi. The Jeep has the 5.7 in it as well and that is one of the best running engines I've ever owned.  Would I by another,

probably, but they discontinued the Durango and I'm looking forward to no car payment shortly.

My dad, brother,sister,father-in-law,wife and I have all owned chrylser products and the only problems weve had are all transmissions.Numerous transmissions. All the G. M. products Ive owned have been 100% junk and fell apart daily. Buy a ford.

I love my TUNDRA.  '04 with 50,000 miles no problems.  Tows my 21ft Triton fine at highway speeds.

To me, what is sad in an ironic way, is that my late parents both had a number of Chrysler products & back in '50/60's they were decent cars. The big 3 never caught up once imports became a staple of our society and found they couldn't compete. That said, '99 Toyota Tacoma, 255K miles, runs basically the same as when it had 25 miles on it new. Oh, did have to replace a starter & TPS. Nothing else.

Chrysler has a plant in our area that made the transmissions for them and of course, Dodge.  They are closing the plant in June, so I no longer support them.  I've owned three Jeep Cherokees in the past---now I have a Silverado that I wouldn't be without!!
