bassheel Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 I feel like one of my friends died.Someone broke into my home and stole my tackle.I guessed they wanted just the tackle because they left reels and rods.I had at least $500 worth of hooks and lures(crank baits mostly).I don't where to start replacing everything. I'm just numb right now. Quote
Bass Dude Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Man, that hurts!! :'( Bright side: you still have your rods!! Quote
Pitchinkid Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Man thats suck. I know how you feel. i had a bunch of rod and reels taken before. Check local Flea markets or ones in your next county, might not be able to prove that there yours, but breakin somebodys nose will make you feel better. Quote

Super User fishfordollars Posted February 24, 2009 Super User Posted February 24, 2009 Sorry, that really sucks. I hate a thief. In about 90 days start checking the pawn shops within a 50 mile radius and you will probably be able to buy back some of your things. Good luck! Quote

Super User Sam Posted February 24, 2009 Super User Posted February 24, 2009 Contact local police and file a report. Individual(s) who did this had inside information and knew what they were seeking, or they were just stupid and took the plastics knowing it would get you very upset. So who has been to your home or with whom have you been discussing fishing? Check local newspaper for ads selling plastics or local yard sales, etc. that list plastics as items for sale. Perks may be someone you know. Think about it. Quote
frogtog Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 I'm with Sam on this. It's somebody that you know. : Quote
DADto4 Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 I'm with Sam on this. It's somebody that you know. : Yup I agree. Good luck Quote
bass wrangler569 Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 I feel your pain bro. I had $900 bucks worth of rods and reels stolen a few months ago, granted it was at the boat ramp not in my house. Try calling your home owners insurance, they covered almost all of my stolen rods and reels and I actually was able to upgrade to updated stuff lol, still hurt but thats one thing you might want to look into. I agree that it was probably someone you know, beat them with your flippin stick when you find the S.O.B.!!! Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted February 25, 2009 Super User Posted February 25, 2009 Er, you don't live anywhere near Muddy, do you? Quote
done Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Dude, that totally sucks! Someone needs a serious *** kicking!! I feel for you I really do. Quote
baboosicbass08 Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Man, sorry to hear that, as mostly everyone else has said it was most likely someone you know if they knew what you had and how much they could get, my advice would be to start checking craigslist daily they'll probably try to make some money out of this and hopefully thats where they get caught. Good luck on getting your stuff back Quote
fivesixone Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Perks may be someone you know. It's "perps" as in perpetrators. I agree though, check craigslist, local pawn shops, etc. Hopefully you get your stuff back! That really sucks! Quote
