They migrated from Europe not to avoid taxes, they migrated in search for religious freedom. Heavy taxation without representation was the cause of the American Revolution.

I mean don't get history wrong, heavy taxes and poor economy in England was hard on people, but religious got them to flee to the New World. The found better Economic standard in the New World and choice to practice new Religious.
