I like DEJ.  He is a very skilled driver, but he has his Dad's temper.  He screwed up the first time by missing his pit. That cost him a lap, He screwed up the next time by pitting outside the box.  That cost him a lap.  Then his self-frustration and temper took over and he damned near took out the entire field.  One of these days he's going to grow up and be as good a driver as his father.

I think I'm done anyhow, but if Junior doesn't get some kind of

disciplinary suspension, I'm out for sure. This clown is a "Clear

and Present Danger" to every driver on the track. His ego makes

him a threat, his lack of driving skill makes him an accident waiting

to happen.

Suspension for what?

It's obvious you aren't a fan, so why make such an ultimatum?

This wasn't an "accident", it was intentional. While Junior is "racing"

for last place, his immaturity put a number of contenders out of the

race. Having a "bad day" is not an excuse.

From Fox Sports:

Busch was blunt in his assessment of what happened:

"Some guys having some bad days and not doing their best out there, they made their bad day our bad day and we had a problem," Busch said. "I was just playing with my teammate [Denny Hamlin] up there and having a great time. It was just unfortunate that two guys got together that were a lap down and were fighting over nothing."

No matter who was at fault, Busch was extremely bitter to be standing outside the infield care center before the race ended.

"It looked [like a] pretty big [mistake] to me," Busch said. "It cost the winning car the chance to win the race."

Of the other cars involved, Kurt Busch was solidly in the top 10 all day and was most fortunate, as he ended up 10th. Hamlin and Carl Edwards had been inside the top seven until that point, and Edwards ended up 18th while Hamlin was 26th. Jamie McMurray was a fixture in the top eight and seriously damaged in the crash. He finished 37th.

Vickers blocking move was completely within the rules of the game.  Jr, OTOH, had gone below the double yellow.  The rules state he now had to take a position back in line somewhere behind the car he was trying to pass.  Since his old slot was now filled up with another car he would've had to have slowed and fallen to the back of that line of cars driving the inside line.  He decided to "move" Vickers out of the way instead.

shouldnt a driver assume theres a risk involved in blocking? a few more crashes like yesterday and i wonder if we will hear anything from the powers that be.

Off the subject: Burley, your avatar is killing me. I just about split a gut when I saw that thing. ;D

DEJ is an average driver at best with superstar expectations for having the last name he has. I don't think the wreck itself was intentional, more a lack of maturity and car control.

The two pit road incidents were clearly his fault but he tried to blame everything else. Then says it was only an inch on the line so he should not have been penalized. The rule is clear, he broke it, he got held.

Its amazing the number of people who will blindly follow this average driver. Some people on other boards actually say Vickers show have let DEJ by. Are you serious?

People block every lap. They cannot come out with a rule to deter it.  The reality of it is that JR should have gotten a 5 lap penalty for rough driving just as Jason Leffler got it the day before.

Its a part of racing

Vickers interview "i wouldnt wreck anyone in front of the whole pack"

He must have forgot Talladega in 2006 where he took out Johnson and Jr..he did the same thing to Johnson that Jr did to him

that really doesnt answer the question. i really didnt see many drivers getting blocked like vickers blocked, every lap.

im also not debating if jr should have received a penalty, just a statement or opinion on my part that if youre going to block you might get yourself in trouble.

There were probably 750+ blocks in the 130+ green flag laps.  Blocking is part of racing.  Turning someone because you got cleanly blocked isn't racing.  Its just a 34 year old acting like he's 8 because he didn't get his way.

His excuses were just awful yesterday.  He blamed missing the pits because of everyone having a pink board like him.  Heck, no one elses has a big red and green outlined 88 on it I bet like his does. Then thinks another rule should be reevaluated because he broke it.  Just pure stupidity.

Probably half.  That wasn't that big of a block. Heck the only person who didn't block apparently was Idiot Sadler and it cost him the race.

Some of you are far too quick to say that the Vickers incident was intentional.  Were you in the 88 car?

The 88 had to get up off the apron and back into the draft.  He can't help it if the 83 can't drive well enough.

Burley, other people ended up on the apron during the race after a pass attempt was blocked, how many others hit the other car when getting up on the track? And how is it Vickers fault that DEJ couldn't do it right?

I am not a fan of Jr. or his dad, but the stunt that JR pulled was what his dad did a million times to win races and he is praised for being a great driver.  Dale Sr. was on of the dirtiest drivers out there and still gets billed as one of the greatest "drivers" of all times.  IMHO
