Selig comes out today and says A-Rod shamed the game like he's holier than thou. I'm not defending A-Rod....but he and apparently hundreds of other players right along with Selig and Fehr (who just buried their heads in the sand all the way to the bank) shamed the game as much as anybody.

I don't care if the Yankees, Red Sox, Mets, Cardinals or even the Cubs win diddly squat.....I'm done with this bunch of cheats and hippocrits. As much as I love the game and the NY Yankees they can now all go to where the sun don't shine. I'll just look forward to watching the Nashville Sounds (AAA minor league).

Thanks for reading my rant  >:(

i have a feeling baseball will only get uglier for years until something drastically changes the way we view it

Your rant is nothing I dont disagree with. They seriously need salery caps like NFL.

I dont think I watch a single game last year besides the one I had free tickets too.

Baseball and basketball - I don't care for either due to all the headlines.

It's NASCAR and Bass Fishing for me.

I love Baseball, and i will wait it out, just another bump in the highway!

All sports have BS and Cheating:

NFL; recent spy case and the poster child's of Steroid use

Basketball; Sooner or later Steroids will come to light, just coming out of their thug age, point shaving

Nascar; other than being totally boring watching cars go left and fast on the straight away,. Yea I know 200mph, inches from each other, i would rather watch midget tennis. Constant breaking of rules and crew chiefs who acknowledge.

Boxing: Don King

Bass: under the table deals with locals and all sorts of paid off hi jinx. I would rather just fish myself, this part of our sport does little for me.

So it goes on and on, as long as money and gambling is involved there will always be some kind of cheating going on.

I did not include wrestling, as this is about real sports.

The Sounds should put up a lot of runs this year, as three studs have been called up from AA.  Pitching will be very thin though.  Watch for Mat Gamel at 3B, Angel Salome at C, and Aliceds Escobar at SS.

The kid at SS has a wicked glove, very Ozzie Smith-like.  The kid at 3B has no glove, but is a torrid hitter.  Too bad the Crew traded stud LF prospect Matt LaPorta to the Indians for CC, he's going to be something.

YOu can watch all the AAA games you want but you will still be seeing guys that are on the juice or were on the juice during the off season. Football also has guys doing steriods. Shawn Merriman was recently suspended for steroid use. Bill Romanowski ring a bell. All those basketball players some of them are doing steroids also, it just hasn't been brought to the light yet. If you are going to swear off MLB you might as well swear off all professional sports all together. Including tennis, you can't tell me Venus Williams isn't doing steriods or hasn't done steroids in the past. Baseball is america's past time and will continue to be for years to come. I will continue to be a baseball fan and will watch multiple games this year.

MLB is such a poorly run league.  We all know other professional sports league have their fair share of substance abusers, but the MLB continues to leave all their dirty laundry out to the public to see.  Good God, they have evidence that should have been disposed of and yet they leave it lying around for years in case something like this should arise, then display it for the world to see.  It almost seems like they knew this was going to happen, so they just want to hang on to all the evidence to tarnish the league.

Now days when you hear about steroids, you automatically think MLB.  Players after players being accused, they stand in front of congress and proclaim their innocence and then later found out to be lying.  Time after time have we heard players make the claim that they did not know what they were injecting into their bodies.  Are you serious?!  How could a professional athlete who takes better care of his body not know what's being injected into their bodies?!

The whole recent Bond story how the Feds raided and obtain Bond's negative test samples that somehow ended up positive.  Sample that tested negative, test that was supposed to be anonymous, and tests that was supposed to be disposed of years ago.  And yet, here it is still lying around in labs just waiting for the Fed to come raid it years later.  I'm sorry, I believe Bonds did use, but in fairness what happened was not fair and it seems like the Feds just want to pin it on someone.

The MLB is an out of controlled grease fire.

Riskkid,

I was done with MLB after their last strike.

I don't watch the World Series anymore, either.

I don't follow the teams any longer.

I enjoy ice hockey more than baseball these days.

Have not been to a major league game since the strike and don't plan to go any time soon.  >:(

To watch a steroid free game , you would probably have to go to a little league game. High schools , colleges , and the minor leagues all have been using steroids.

So if you think you were watching steroid free baseball in the minor leagues , you are mistaken.

we have a minor league team here thats IMO 3 times funner to watch than the KC Royals. plus, for $50 you and the lady can eat and have drinks, park, and get tickets.

From what I have read online the feds seized the so called anonymous tests only months after the tests were taken.

I was finally getting excited about baseball again after nearly 20 years of not watching (after the strike). Now this crap is in the news EVERY day.

Bud Selig is a scum bag. We are supposed to believe that while he was stuffing his pockets as an owner, he had absolutely no knowledge that this was happening. Now he is up on his moral soapbox and makes me sick.

I'm with Glenn, Nascar and Bass fishing may be the way to go.

I agree 100% you might as well stop watching all sports if your gonna stop with the MLB because of steroids, NFLs got their issues, NBA, NHL, UFC they all have athletes using steroids, pretty much the only sport with those not using would be NASCAR...Roid rage behind the wheel going 200mph would get quite deadly lol

It may happen in all sports but the rest of sports aren't letting the issue ruin themselves. It's very rare to see many baseball coverage without some kind of relation or mentioning of steroids. It's absolutely terrible. I doubt I'll even watch the coverage on Sports Center this season.

Truthfully I realize there is cheating in all of it. As far as the minors go, when one of those guys get caught they nail them to the wall so baseball looks like they are doing something. All they are doing is sacrificing the little guy in a transparent attempt to polish their image. It's a huge Selig sham....he is the guy I'm really frustrated with. He is right about A-Rod but where was he with the others. Just covering it up to make his sorry butt look like he's innocent. His statements today made me want to puke just because he is so full of POOP. Maybe when he's gone I'll come back.

As an aside I gave up the NHL after their strike and the NFL is about to push me over the edge. I am almost ready to sell my PSL's to the Titans. I never have watched the NBA or NASCAR. The college game is not perfect but it's where I'd rather spend my time and money these days. Vanderbilt has a great baseball program that is fun to watch....David Price played there only a couple years ago. That's probably the place to watch baseball for me.
