I'm not a big baseball fan, so I was wondering what you baseball and Yankee fans thought about A-Rod.

I think fisherman should use steroids---think how far we could cast a DD22---we could get that thing to dive 40ft!!!  We could also horse those Falcon Lake pigs right out of the brush!!

this whole era of baseball has been ruined, not by a few, but it looks like most of our stars that we and our kids look up to.  I honestly dont think that taking away the hall of fame rights is the right thing to do because we just dont know who all took an advantage.  The latest report said that over 120 guys tested positive in 2003.  We dont know who all these guys are and if it actually gave everybody an advantage.  Dont get me wrong, steroids are terrible for players and the game, but remember in the 80's when Cocaine was the drug of choice for a ton of players, and they are in the hall.  I really hope the new testing has put an end to this mess and guys we never dreamed would do such a thing such as Ripkin, Grace, or somebody like that gets called out.

I just don't like what the whole thing has done to kids. My younger brother graduated high school 2 years ago, and there were a number of kids on his team that were using steroids.  5 out of 9 starters at the last college I played for (which was very, very small, Division 3) were actively using steroids.

They are dangerous for anyone to use and they provide an unfair advantage against those who are not willing to shave 10 years off of their lives. Steroids can't help you hit a curveball, but steroids will help you turn a 326 foot fly out into a 342 foot homerun.

I'm not shocked. The Mitchell Report made one thing clear: steroids and HGH were used by many players, from up-and-comers to well established stars.

The more this drags on, the worse MLB looks. I think it's time to close this can of worms and move forward.

Major league baseball sucks in so many ways...

I hope they throw A-Rod under the bus!

I think the real fun will start when these juicers are eligible for the Hall of Fame. They're keeping McGwire out, will they keep Bonds, Palmero, A-Rod, Clemens, Petite, and the rest out for the same reason?

What about all the other players with incredible numbers who have not yet been named...does that mean they're innocent, or just lucky?

I know ESPN loves this topic, but at some point we're going to have to decide as fans if we even really care. Right now attendance and TV ratings say that we don't.

I think its awesome, but im a red sox fan. I liked to see everybody on roids for a few years. Home run numbers would be awesome.Maddux could pitch until he was 73. pitchers would throw in the triple digits consitenley. lol maybe there can be a league seperate from the mlb like the XFL and the NFL. Charging the mound would be manditory. I could see John Rocker coming back and killing someone. BUt all jokes aside, this is just another tanted athlete for the struggling MLB. Maybe just start kicking everyone out and placing a life time ban on anyone that has and are using. Random urine test at every game. Could have a bring your own cup night. One mucky fan will get his/her cup used by Jason Varitek in the bottom of the 7th. lol

A-Roid is a loser. If you need drugs to play the game, you basically have lost all confidence in yourself and your ability. It ticked me off when people say "Oh he only used it for 2 years", what that makes it okay since it was only during that period? If you dope, your stats should have a big * next to them, so one day when a father brings his son to the Hall, he can point at him and say to his son, "You see this loser? Well, he cheated."

I hope we get to find out who the other 103 players that tested positive were, and what percentage that represents.  This is the tip of the iceberg.

I really feel sorry for the guy. He is expected to compete on such a high level it is understandable that he may seek an alternative route to find success.

NOT ;D

I hate cheaters. This guy is a dirtbag.

I laughed at the quote from A-Rod when asked why...  " I felt a ton of pressure to perform after signing the 10 yr., $250 MM contract..."    Maybe he should have signed for a little less if he wasn't up to the pressure!  Just another greedy, lying cheater.

I would prefer that any known doper not only be kept from the Hall, but as soon as they test positive, the sample should be retested to assure accuracy and then give out an immediate, lifetime ban from the game.  Furthermore, they should have to repay any contract signing bonus, that year's salary plus any accrued bonuses and any endorsement dollars.

I about gagged when he made the comment about his coming clean, like it should be respected. He lied over and over again about it, only when the proof was made public did he acknowledge he did. That is not coming clean, thats only trying to save face......

I'm not surprised, and I am surprised at the same time.  I always thought A-Rod was one of the guys you could count on to be clean.

I am also concerned about the image that this gives kids; steroids already were a huge problem at my high school, and essentially condoned by the football coaches.  It happened every year without fail:  the kids would leave school for summer break after sophomore year, and come back 3 months later 50 lbs bigger with full beards.  I know some kids do hit crazy growth spurts, but not every kid who was slated to go from JV to Varsity.  I had several friends on the football team who were very open about their steroid use, and I have seen first hand the effects of "Roid Rage."

While school administrators have spent all their time trying to stop such trivial issues like pot, steroids have snuck in the back door and become almost completely acceptable.

I don't have any kids so I wasn't aware how big this problem was at the high school level.  That is very scary and very sad!!!

Actually, a lot teams need a pharmacist....to tell them what the stuff is, since all these guys say they had no clue what they were taking.  ::)

Yea just like I said a few times in my youth:

Honestly Officer I thought that was Oregano! ::)

I really find it hard to believe that the best athletes, with the best trainers and top agents did not have a clue to what they were putting in their bodies.

I agree steroids really are starting to become a problem with kids that no one really thinks is serious. They all are busy trying to get kids from smoking pot. There was a kid at my highschool who juiced and went from 150lbs to 220lbs in a little less than a year, it was obvious and he was open about it to me and a few other people. After he stopped he shrunk back down in size and now has ridiculous stretch marks. The problem with steroids is that you really can't just do one cycle, once you do one cycle you blow up in size and start putting up some serious weight, then when you stop you get smaller again and your self esteem goes down because you hate being smaller and weaker so you go back to roids. I've had numerous people offer me to at least try a cycle or to just do one cycle but I never will because of that reason plus the stretch marks are disgusting.

Another Big Black Eye on the players, management, and union.

He eluded to GNC on most all accounts, yet what he was popped for can't be obtained through any of GNC's products.

Jose Conseco doesn't look like such a liar after all does he? Pretty much everybody he's mentioned is getting popped one by one.

The baseball players who are shown to have cheated will be akin to the Patriots cheating under Bill Belichick. Any accomplishment will be affixed with a big fat *!

This could have been avoided had the Players Union disposed of these anonymous tests YEARS ago. Why keep such lethal evidence around? CONTROL. Now we get to endure this 103 more times with all the other positive tests out there.
