preach4bass Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Lately I've noticed a lot of threads pertaining to music, and they almost always evolve to resemble a bunch of immature kids arguing over who's daddy is stronger. These arguments spill over from one playground thread to another. It's getting to the point where politics and religion could be discussed more civilly. In the spirit of the Grammy's, how about a truce? Bury the hatchets you've been swinging at each other, kiss and make up (or whatever you musical types do ;D). Please, for the good of BR. Quote
SuskyDude Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 My girlfriend is watching the Grammys right know, so Ive been watching. Sounds like an open mic night at the local tavern! Not impressed. Stevie was pretty good though. To bad he had a bunch of teenage brats ruining it for him. Quote
frogtog Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 What do these people do give there self an award ever week. They must to the voting themselves. ;D Quote

Super User Muddy Posted February 9, 2009 Super User Posted February 9, 2009 I didn't get to watch it live, Elaine recorded it for me, which is good as I can flip through what i don't want to watch. I was burning some Mardi Gras stuff for some friends It is good to see Dr.John and BB King among the winners. Wow Chic Corea won one as did the Village Vanguard Band, that's a lot of Thad Jones and Mel Lewis Alumni the great Tenor Sax player Ralph Lama plays with them 8-) Quote

Super User Sam Posted February 10, 2009 Super User Posted February 10, 2009 I was very disappointed that Metallica did not win anything. Of course, if they had a category for "noise" then I am sure Metallica would have cleaned up. (Can't wait for Dave's reply if he reads this.) ;D ;D ;D Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted February 10, 2009 Super User Posted February 10, 2009 My wife had it on in the background. I saw a few of the costumes and caught several of the "entertainers"... Quote
Super User Muddy Posted February 10, 2009 Super User Posted February 10, 2009 I got to watch this this evening, certainly not one of the best og the Grammy shows. I never got Neil Diamond, I know many respect him as a great TIN PAN ALLEY writer, over in the Brill Building, but as a performer I don't get this guy. He didn't even "sing" but rather recited his best selling song. I was very happy to see Dr.John and BB King both bag another one The show was just a cut above an everyday Tonight show, not much spark at all. Quote
Super User Sam Posted February 10, 2009 Super User Posted February 10, 2009 OK Dave, Dave 1 Sam 0 But it won't last long. ;D ;D ;D Quote
