Super User burleytog Posted February 8, 2009 Super User Posted February 8, 2009 Listening to this makes me realize just how little attention I paid to NASCAR in the offseason. Bobby Labonte in a Ford? :-? Quote
TheBeast Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Me too, I had forgot about Tony Stewart leaving the 20, that is gonna take some gettin used to. I used to be able to tell you anything you wanted to know about what was going on with Nascar anytime of year but it just isn't the same. Quote
1inStripes Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I never ever want to hear Harvick complain about someone lagging back at a plate track again. He didn't even keep up with the pack until the last 15 laps. Labonte in a Ford does seem odd. Resident Labonte fan at work did confirm that he drove a ford once before when he drove the Maxwell House car around 93ish. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted February 8, 2009 Author Super User Posted February 8, 2009 I'm just glad Carl Edwards didn't get the win. Quote
1inStripes Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Don't worry he will pull them out when they actually count. He's not a Harvick or a JR. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted February 8, 2009 Author Super User Posted February 8, 2009 Can't wait till he breaks his leg doing that flip. Quote
TheBeast Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 It's allright, he's got Aflac. Oh yeah he's not even in the same galaxy as Senior. Quote
1inStripes Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Every flip equals another W. Something Harvick rarely does. Heck, he's on a SR streak around 97ish isn't he? There's a lot people in SRs galaxy, just not too many that entered it in turn 4 at Daytona. Quote
Olebiker Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Looking at how those cars were bouncing and sliding around Saturday night I expect there is going to be a high premium on getting to the front and staying there. If you are more than about 10 cars back you can be pretty sure of getting caught up in a wreck. Quote
TheBeast Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I'm not so sure about that. Harvick just laid back all night, heck he laid back somuch he lost the draft and look where he finished. Quote

He was so far behind the pack he was able to react to the crashes. I'm just concerned that this thing might turn into a 2.5 mile Bristol. Quote
TheBeast Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 It allready is a 2.5 mile Bristol. Bristol ain't anything like it was, they are all afraid to even get close to one another or touch another car. Quote
1inStripes Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 When they changed the surface drivers began to love Bristol more and fans liking it less. Not as much action as they used to be. I just want to go to Darlington sometime soon to watch one. Its the purest track left on the circuit, and even it with the pave job lost a little luster. I would like to go to the Nationwide race in the spring though. I want to see how Junior Johnson, David Pearon, Harry Gant, DW and others mix it up in the legends race. Quote
