Super User Micro Posted February 2, 2009 Super User Posted February 2, 2009 Best game in a long, long time.
T-Bone Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I was routing for the cardinals, but I honestly didn't care who one. Great game!
Super User Jimzee Posted February 2, 2009 Super User Posted February 2, 2009 Glad the Steelers won. I was nail biting there for a little while. Woo Hoo!!
Mobydick Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 The nieghbors 100 pounds of fireworks celebrated that event good! Way to go Stealers! Ian
Branuss04 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 You people should here it outside my house, there's fire whistles going off, people lighting fireworks, shooting guns, screaming, and yelling! So your saying it's just like any other day in Pittsburgh :
SuskyDude Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Congrats Steelers fans. I was rooting for the Cards, just so they could win their 1st instead of Pitt. winning their 6th. Steelers definetly earned it though.
Super User burleytog Posted February 2, 2009 Super User Posted February 2, 2009 Best game in a long, long time. I guess you missed last year's game.
SuskyDude Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Best game in a long, long time. I guess you missed last year's game. Agreed. I was going to say it, but it would've been biased considering I'm a Giant fan!
aceman387 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 congrats to all you steeler fans . i thought it was great game . i was hoping for funnier commercials this year , bruce springsteen had alot of energy ,faith hill looked scrumptious.
1inStripes Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 You people should here it outside my house, there's fire whistles going off, people lighting fireworks, shooting guns, screaming, and yelling! I hope the aim is good. Maybe take out a few more idiots. Wanted the Cards to win, but glad a local boy got another ring too.
SuskyDude Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Oh, one more thing. The Boss needs a boss, so he can fire him. He used to be young and boring. Now he's old and boring.
1inStripes Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Oh, one more thing. The Boss needs a boss, so he can fire him. He used to be young and boring. Now he's old and boring. Amen to that. All I needed to see was 50" of old man midsection during halftime.
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted February 2, 2009 Super User Posted February 2, 2009 Awesome, awesome game. I was VERY impressed with how well the Cardinals played. Larry Fitz is a freakin BEAST. First team with one for the other thumb!!!!!
Super User Dan: Posted February 2, 2009 Super User Posted February 2, 2009 I didn't really care who won but I was routing for Kurt Warner. It really was a good game. I thought it was better than last year's but not by much. The halftime show sucked. Bruce Springsteen is a joke. I don't really know who the producers were targeting with that choice.
Super User Muddy Posted February 2, 2009 Super User Posted February 2, 2009 I did not watch the game or the half time show, I out grew Springsteen years ago. I do know the music business and I would say his record company had something to do with it. The Superbowl has had a significant effect of record sales of aging acts. I also believe he is at the beginning of a new tour as he has a release this year. Take a look at these numbers of past acts and effect on catalog sales: Other recent Super Bowl spikes that Billboard spotted in Nielsen SoundScan data: Prince in 2007: His catalog of albums more than doubled in sales in the week after his halftime performance to 31,000 - up from 14,000 the prior week. Similarly, digital downloads of all his available songs almost doubled, with Nielsen SoundScan posting 102,000 paid track downloads for Prince, compared to 59,000 the week before the championship game. Rolling Stones in 2006: Their album "A Bigger Bang" showed a 34% increase over the week before the Super Bowl. Paul McCartney in 2005: His 2002 live album posted a 542% increase in sales, while two of his greatest hits sets more than doubled ("All the Best" by 246% and "Wingspan: Hits and History" by 161%). Beatles' hits album "1" showed 72% growth. Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake in 2004: Despite - or maybe because of - controversy generated by their halftime appearance, sales for three of her albums more than doubled, while his "Justified" increased 160%. Current albums by participants Nelly (up 56%) and Kid Rock (up 25%) also gained. Shania Twain in 2003: Twain's "Up" led the Super Bowl field, with a 41% increase, while No Doubt's "Rock Steady" gained 23% and Sting saw "Very Best of Sting & The Police" grow by 39%. U2 in 2002: Sales for three of the band's key albums more than doubled ("All That You Can't Leave Behind," up 142%; "Best of 1980-1990," up 154%; "The Joshua Tree," up 144%). Other than a major sporting event, it's money it's always the money. Addendum; Here ya go TICKETS GO ON SALE TOMMOROW Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have announced a forthcoming world tour.TICKET SALES MOSTLY START 2/2/09
srv1990 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Funny thing happened while I was watching the game... my brother brushed up against me as I was standing in the doorway, and someone threw a flag on him for "roughing the beer drinking guy standing in the doorway". He barely touched me, but still got flagged. Oh well, at least the halftime show was lame, as usual. Reasonably entertaining football game, though.
preach4bass Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I did not watch the game or the half time show. Yet, you still managed to make the longest post in the Super Bowl thread. : ;D Great game!
Super User Muddy Posted February 2, 2009 Super User Posted February 2, 2009 With some folks around here you really need to prove things.
IDbasser Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 That was a great game. I did not watch half time.
FordNFishinLover Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Great game! I thought it was much much better than last years! I wanted steelers to win, but it wasnt a big deal to me. I think they deserved it more, and both teams player very hard. Bruce springsteen was a joke, me and some friends went and played COD4 instead cause he was so bad. Btw, anyone use their 3-D glasses for the sweet commercials during half time? ;D
atx_newbie Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Had that game winning TD been thrown to anyone besides Holmes, I would be upset (because I was pulling for the Cards). But the six fantasy points that catch gave Holmes put me over the top in fantasy, so I'm good with it
