Super User 5bass Posted August 31, 2008 Super User Posted August 31, 2008 If I was going to lay money on it, I'd have to go with Oklahoma.....I don't like them at all but for some reason I think this is their year. Who's it going to be? Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted August 31, 2008 Super User Posted August 31, 2008 Arkansas State : OU definitely has a shot this year. Bradford has matured nicely. Also watch out for Ohio State. If they can get by USC they could find themselves in the title game AGAIN. :-X I see the SEC tearing each other up again this year with each team having at least 2 losses. No SEC team in championship game, which is a shame, because I think they have some of the best teams in the country. My prediction: OU vs. OSU. Quote
Fishing Doug Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 Painful to say this, but I would have to go with USC. As long as they get past OSU I don't see them losing the rest of the season. I see them beating the winner of the Big 12 (Mizzou/OK/TX) in the championship game. With that being said, we likely won't see the 2 best teams play each other since we don't have a playoff system. :-X > Quote
Super User Catt Posted August 31, 2008 Super User Posted August 31, 2008 LSU's QB's will settle in for a repeat Florida Georgia Y'all have nothing for the SEC Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted August 31, 2008 Super User Posted August 31, 2008 Hey Catt, do you think the BCS will put a 2 loss LSU or Georgia ahead of a 1 loss OSU/OU/USC? Quote
Still a Bigbuckifan Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 OSU of course. We returned almost all of our starters and look who we play. If we can get past USC we will have a undefeted season . We also have the top quarterback recrute from last year who is a dual threat. Only problem is bennie wells may be injured ( I prayed real hard last night that it is not that bad) Quote
Super User Sam Posted August 31, 2008 Super User Posted August 31, 2008 From the look of it, Southern Cal had a very impressive game against hapless Virginia. USC right now looks good but they always seem to shoot themselves in the foot during the season. Ohio State may have lost Bennie for a few weeks or his injury will nag him throughout the year. If so, I cannot see OSU playing for the National Title. Oklahoma has a good shot but Missouri is very strong as is Texas so OU will have their hands full during the season and in the title game. Missouri has a favorable schedule; a very good football team; and should challenge Texas and OU for the conference title. ACC's top two teams were defeated by a lower level East Carolina and a SEC lower echelon Alabama team so both have to regroup and run the table for either Virginia Tech or Clemson to earn the bid. The SEC has many strong teams so you have to look at their schedule. LSU has too many tough games on the road; Georgia has a very tough schedule and I can't see them coming through the season undefeated. Auburn and Florida are long shots but Florida is looking good with a favorable schedule of the SEC teams, which really does not mean that much as all SEC teams are formidable opponents. So right now, I like Missouri and Southern Cal, but this will change as the season progresses. Quote

Evan Pease Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 GO GATORS X2 I hope they beat Tennessee, I dislike the Vols Quote
bmadd Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Good luck OSU... I agree with Catt. One of those three teams will be back in the championship to play either Oklahoma or USC. And Peasy- There's no reason to dislike the vols It's Great. To Be. A Tennessee Vol!! Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted September 1, 2008 Super User Posted September 1, 2008 It's entirely too early to get into this pissin contest. Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted September 1, 2008 Super User Posted September 1, 2008 A SEC team Georgia or LSU Quote
RiskKid. Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Michigan vs Tennessee Boy the Vols stunk it up.....Michigan may be the only team we'd have a chance to beat Realistically I think Florida vs USC and Florida taking it.....BUT there is a long way to go and the upsets have just begun!!! Quote
Super User Catt Posted September 3, 2008 Super User Posted September 3, 2008 Hey Catt, do you think the BCS will put a 2 loss LSU or Georgia ahead of a 1 loss OSU/OU/USC? I would love to see OSU/OU/USC play @ Auburn @ Florida @ South Carolina Georgia Alabama @ Arkansas Ya think they would only have 1 loss? Quote

Super User Hookemdown. Posted September 4, 2008 Super User Posted September 4, 2008 Hey Catt, do you think the BCS will put a 2 loss LSU or Georgia ahead of a 1 loss OSU/OU/USC? I would love to see OSU/OU/USC play @ Auburn @ Florida @ South Carolina Georgia Alabama @ Arkansas Ya think they would only have 1 loss? I'm not saying they could get through the SEC's schedule unscathed, I'm asking do you think those geeks behind the computers will put a 2 loss LSU before a 1 loss OU for a title shot. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted September 4, 2008 Super User Posted September 4, 2008 Hey Catt, do you think the BCS will put a 2 loss LSU or Georgia ahead of a 1 loss OSU/OU/USC? I would love to see OSU/OU/USC play @ Auburn @ Florida @ South Carolina Georgia Alabama @ Arkansas Ya think they would only have 1 loss? Since 2002, USC has dominated Auburn twice and Arkansas twice. Don't forget Cal and UCLA have wins over TENN as well. Didn't Michigan beat the Heisman winner and Florida last year as well? SEC put their pants on like everyone else, and stats shows the SEC has taken their lumps like everyone else when it came to pac 10. SEC non conference foes since 2002 37-36 and that leaving the cellar dwellers out of the mix. Stats speak for them selves. Quote
Fisher of Men Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 SEC winner vs. Big 12 winner. If that happens to be Oklahoma, they'll lose. Stoops has stooped too much in his bowl games of late. I question whether or not he has what it takes to win the REAL big one anymore. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted September 4, 2008 Super User Posted September 4, 2008 FOM, Stoops has failed to win the big ones since his brother left his staff. On a positive note, Michigan got whipped by a JV team last year opening day and still beat Florida in a Bowl game. So just cause the Aggies lost to Ark. St., don't mean the season is a bust. Ark. St. has played some tough teams the past two seasons and gave them a run for their money.. They played Texas last year 13-21 I believe and gave Tennessee a battle 41-27.. Hookem Matt Quote
