Bassaholic84 Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 I still enjoy Nascar. I went to Martinsville and Dover last year. I root for kyle Busch (im sure everybodys going to love that lol) and always have so last year was a blast for me until the end when dang Johnson started dominating and Kyle couldnt do anything right. It definetly is more crew chief and equipment now but i still enjoy to watch it. The sport needs more aggresive drivers like kyle and carl. When they were battling at bristol and a hole stretch of tracks that was what nascar is all about. GO 18 and JGR Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted January 28, 2009 Super User Posted January 28, 2009 Wow, not a lot of love for Martin here. I am really excited to see him run full-time again. I wish him all the best. I'm just not too thrilled he's running with Hendrick. :-X Quote

jimmieO Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Man, I hate that I burned out on it...I got the fever really bad in the early 2000's, but they have turned almost everyone into a robot. The constant yellow flags for no apparent reason aggravate me more than anything...oops someone's getting too far ahead...throw a flag...oops (fill in driver) is getting too far behind, and his sponsor owns 50% of this track, so throw a yellow.... Plus (and i've never driven a racecar in my life) but it seems to have far less to do with driver skill now...seems that whoever has the most $$$$$ or the most brilliant crew chief (no one can debate that Chad Knaus is an automotive genius, and I really dislike the 48 team) is the team that is going to win Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted January 29, 2009 BassResource.com Administrator Posted January 29, 2009 I'm a Stewart fan now. Used to be a Sadler fan, but after 2 years of not finishing races, I threw in the towel. Nascar needs to get rid of the 1 1/2 mile tracks. Those are the absolute worst! Bring on more Bristols and Martinsvilles, and you'll have more exciting races. Quote

I find him to be very humble. On a related note, when a driver whines and passes the buck, I like to refer to that as the 'Rusty Wallace Syndrome.' Quote
Super User cart7t Posted January 29, 2009 Super User Posted January 29, 2009 The races are way too long. The season is way too long as well. The D shaped cookie cutter tracks are a snooze to watch. The plate races are only worth watching for the big ones. They massage and manipulate each race for the best show thereby eliminating the true sport aspect of the series. If I hear Boogity, boogity, boogity one more time I'll puke. Jimmy Spencer is such a NASCAR tewl you can almost see the handle sticking out of his big butt. The racecasts are 4 hour long commercials interrupted by racing. The lucky dog is a joke. Goodyear proves year after year why they could never compete up against Firestone in American Open wheel racing. Are race cars actually supposed to track sideways down the straights? Other than that, I'll tune in to see how Montoya is doing. Quote
zbass Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 NASCAR changed for me in 2001. #3 FOREVER!!!!! Quote
Super User Catt Posted January 29, 2009 Super User Posted January 29, 2009 Mark Martin's problem is he's to nice, get rid of bump passing (it aint bump drafting no more) & he'll whip em all. Pull the restrictor plates off & let em race Quote
Btech Posted January 29, 2009 Author Posted January 29, 2009 I hope they dont chew him up and spit him out like Casey Mears - Hendric has a tendancy to only keep those who are in major spotlight. Another reason i dont like them and pull for ROUSH dirvers Im surprized no one brought up Tony Stewart yet I hate him! KB is good and Nascar needs a good villin right now so I hope he keeps doing what he is doing as long as he stays away from Kenseth. And how bout Montoya? Quote
basser89 Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 And on cue, I'm a Tony Stewart fan (like Glenn)! I used to pull for Mark Martin until he hopped in that car with the OTHER V on it! ;D Can't stand the Hendric's drivers! They all just rub me the wrong way (well except for Jr, I don't pull for him for spite of my sister! LOL!). I don't watch as many races as I used to but I will listen to the race on the radio while doing other things...... like fishing! Quote
Olebiker Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 How is Martin a whiner? I find him to be very humble. To hear him tell it, he has never lost a race because he made a mistake. It was always Roush's fault that they didn't put him in cars that were good enough, or some rookie was in his way, or someone else wrecked him. The guy looks like he is on the verge of tears every time he is interviewed after a race. Quote
