jack1 Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 That hit on Palmer looked very similar to the hit on Tom Brady this year. Quote

Looks like he was blocked down into that path by the O-line and the ball just barely gets out before contact is made. The guy is clearly looking down at the ground and heading that way. It was a freak accident and the only way to avoid it would be if Palmer jumps out of the way or his lineman quits blocking guys INTO his legs. Try this: fill up a 55 gallon barrel full of whatever to about 325lbs and put it on a moving dolly on a hill. Then give it a shove down the hill then jump in front of it and try to stop it. Kind of hard to stop that much beef once you get it going. Thought the MaGahee 'conspiracy' was funny but this one takes the cake. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted January 21, 2009 Super User Posted January 21, 2009 Come on Eddie, you know the Steelers cant win without cheating!! : Quote
jack1 Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 The hit on Palmer in that video - not dirty - just like the hit on Brady. The hit on Kurt Warner during the Eagles/Cards game was. Quote

I agree. a) it was not very late at all the tackler couldn't even see above Palmer's waist because he was falling/being blocked down to the ground. I don't think you can assume he had ill intent if he couldn't even see if the ball had been delivered or not. Quote
bass or bass ? Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Has there ever been a team of whining crybaby little girls than the Dallas Crygirls? :'( No-one has ever been more guilty of cheating and bribing than they. > Now, as for this Superbowl, this lifetime Steeler's fan, born and raised in western PA has a real dilema on his hands. After living here in Arizona for 29 years, should I root for Pittsburgh to win an unprecedented 6 superbowls ;D, or root for Arizona to get their first . Well, the Cardinals are kind of like Rocky Balboa. Everyone says they're no good and have no business in the big game :-?, but they just keep on winning against all odds. They have the heart and the eye of the tiger. For the first time ever I'm going to have to root against my beloved Steelers :-/ and say GO CARDINALS. ;D Happy fishing. 8-) ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~ Quote

I guess you don't remember that the Steelers in the 70's were the biggest Roid users in the league. Guess thats why their whole starting offensive line has passed away so young in life. Cheaters LOL. Eddie Munster Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Just my opinion but this thread probably needs closing as it's run it's course and is turning into a flamefest. : Quote
SuskyDude Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Thought I'd add my 2 cents. I saw the game and it WAS a legal hit. There is really no debating it. He lowered his head and shoulder to try to break a tackle and instead got his bell rung. Had MaGahee popped right back up, there would be no argument here. Why can't we all realize that when 200-300 pound men run full speed at eachother in attempts to knock eachother over that.....gasp......they're gonna get hurt? I hate to say it, but it IS a part of the game. No CIVIL person cheers for it, but they should expect it to happen. Football is an INTENSE game to play. You are coached and encouraged to hit hard and play like a rabid dog. You are coached to "cut corners" (especially as a lineman) and not get caught. You are never coached to hurt anyone, yet it still happens because of the nature of the game. The players understand that, but apparently not all the fans do. Seems like whenever someone grets seriously injured in the NFL, it was "a dirty hit", "there should be more rules" yadda yadda. Wrong. The players know the game and they know the risks. If you can't handle it, watch golf or baseball! Oh, and I don't care for the Steelers either.....GO Cards! Quote
bass or bass ? Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Sorry if I got "flamish". Go Cardinals. Nuf said. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~ Quote
