Come on Sean, get with the program.

At least that is what I was told in the Army.

This time of the year is a great time to read, watch videos and DVDs.

Read the articles on this site; visit the pros' web sites and see what they say; go to the advertisers and look up their articles; go out and get copies of Bassin' and Bassmaster Magazine; or go to the library and see what  bass fishing books are available.

And have you organized your tackle?  Cleaned your rods and reels?  Studied maps of the bodies of waters you fish?  Try to find blogs on those bodies of water?  Contact the guys on this site about any subjects you wish to gain more knowledge? Study new techniques or bait applications?  Go outside and practice your casting, flipping and pitching (drives neighbors nuts)?

Visit your local tackle shops and talk to the guys about where they fish, their rods and reels, and their favorite baits.

There are so many things you can do while waiting for the fishing season to begin to help you become a better fisherman.  This is the "Learning Season" for us bass fishermen.

In fact, I am looking forward to a big snow storm in Richmond so I will have an excuse to stay home all day and read and watch videos and search the net on a number of topics.

So don't be sorry.  Be proactive.

We all expect to see your personal best picture on this site this coming fishing season.  ;)

Very well put. I know that is exactly what I have been doing to keep from losing my mind. Now if only my 3 1/2 year old daughter could be so inclined. She is DEFINITELY ready for it to warm up...
