RobbyZ5001 Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Can anyone explain to me why in Anchorage Alaska it is like 45 and in Pennsylvania it is in the negatives? Quote
Super User firefightn15 Posted January 16, 2009 Author Super User Posted January 16, 2009 Other than that we are just special, I think it has to do with what the jet stream is doing right now. Should have plugged the car or truck in last night, can't start either one. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 16, 2009 Super User Posted January 16, 2009 God is punishing Steeler Fans! Quote
Super User J Francho Posted January 16, 2009 Super User Posted January 16, 2009 This time of year, we are actually insulated by Lake Ontario. That big body of water might only be 35°F, but it holds a lot of heat. The downside is when that cold air picks up moisture and then dumps it in the form of lake effect precipitation. Its cold here, but not unbearable. Hit the negatives last night. The weather station down the street is reporting 7.5°F. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 16, 2009 Super User Posted January 16, 2009 Its cold here, but not unbearable. Hit the negatives last night. You crazy, man! The predicted high for tomorrow is only 47, so we're waiting until 10-11:00 to get on the water. 8-) Quote
