paul. Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 "dead space" for xbox 360 will scare the crap out of you. i have lost WAY too much sleep playing this game. technically, i guess it's a shooter, survival horror game like resident evil. there's both puzzle solving elements and shoot 'em up action (but a different strategy than most shooters). the anti-gravity sequences are some of the most trippy, disorienting effects i've ever seen in a game. you will die in this game - plenty! even on "easy" it's VERY tough. and it's probably the longest game of this type i've ever played. i've had it a while now and i still haven't finished. you will be on edge every minute you play. this game has a TON of sudden shocks and surprises that will make you jump out of your skin. here's a review. http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/deadspace/review.html Quote
Super User Micro Posted January 1, 2009 Super User Posted January 1, 2009 Is it eerier than the Zombies in the last level of Call of Duty 5? That's a freaky level. Quote
Simp Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 I knew what the game was before I opened the thread LOL. Dead Space is GREAT!! Paul do you have a gamertag mine is GeneralPatton71 send me a friend request!! Quote
paul. Posted January 1, 2009 Author Posted January 1, 2009 Is it eerier than the Zombies in the last level of Call of Duty 5? That's a freaky level. can't answer that really, never played COD games. but i think i would still be pretty safe in saying yes it is. simply because i can't possibly imagine anything being scarier. i know it makes the resident evil games i have played since the ps1 days look like a disney movie. i have never been so scared to open doors in my life. even when you think you're safe, sometimes you're not. this game just rarely, if ever, lets you catch your breath. and i forgot, it's got some of the coolest weapons ever. the "line gun" totally rocks - especially when you upgrade it. the movie has a hollywood quality horror movie storyline. the audio logs are highly disturbing. and i can't tell you how frustrating it is trying to accomplish objectives in a zero gravity vaccum while trying to fight off enemies with your air supply running out. Paul do you have a gamertag sorry buddy. i am stuck with dial up for now. don't have xbox live. Quote
Eddie Munster Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Great looking game Paul but I'm a diehard PC gamer and my video card won't handle that (required Video Memory: 256MB (nVidia GeForce 6800/ATI Radeon X1600 Pro (Shader 3.0 support) I can't get used to the game controllers on Xbox or Playstation but I am thinking about getting a PS3 for the Blueray capability (it ranks up there for the blueray playing) I am playing Left 4 Dead which is no where near the game Dead Space is but it does have some change your shorts moments. Here it is: http://www.l4d.com/media.htm Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted January 2, 2009 Super User Posted January 2, 2009 Is it better than the original coin operated Donkey Kong? That's my game. Quote
bmadd Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Micro-you really think the zombies were eerie? I would give it nothing but cheesy. Kind of ruined the game for me. As for Dead Space, I've watched my girlfriend's little bro play it and it looks pee your pants scary... Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted January 2, 2009 Super User Posted January 2, 2009 I've got this game as well on the PS3. Pretty intense game! http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1226907060 Quote

But kinda scary, too, don't you think? Quote
Max-in-Mn Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 not a real scarey game at all but has any1 in here tried Crysis? Not the full game, but I was hooked on the demo for about 2 months. It's just so purrrrrrrty Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted January 3, 2009 Super User Posted January 3, 2009 dang... makes me wish i had an xbox 360 Quote
FordNFishinLover Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Are yall kiddin me>? Maybe im not a gamer or something but not only did i think this game was boring but i didnt think it was scary either. A friend of my rented it for a week and beat it on all 3 levels with the worst gun in the game for points on his account thingy. So im guessing it isnt too hard. I dont really care for games anymore, the only game i remotely got into alittle was Gears Of War. I personally am more of a computer game guy. Back in the day i played Diablo 2 Warcraft2-3 and yes World of Warcraft. Go ahead make fun me haha. But it was a pretty fun game. Quote
Dean Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Resident Evil 4 for Wii, awesome game surprised no one has mentioned it. Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted January 10, 2009 Super User Posted January 10, 2009 Resident Evil 4 for Wii, awesome game surprised no one has mentioned it. Played it two years ago on the PS2. Good game graphics for the PS2. Probably only second to God of War 2. Quote

Probably only second to God of War 2. Resident Evil 4 was so 2006.... it was a sick game though. I was sure glad they brought it to the Playstation system. I've only played the first God of War and it has entered my top 5 game list. I would get the second one, but it's hard to go back to the PS2 once you have the Xbox 360. Quote

I know what you mean, my PS3 is a newer version and doesn't have backwards capability. God of War 3 to be released in November 09' - I wish it was sooner. Quote
pitchinallday Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Is it better than the original coin operated Donkey Kong? That's my game. Haha what a classic. The new video games are nowhere near as tough as the originals. I do not think any game is tougher than Ghosts 'n Goblins for the NES . Quote
tallydude Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 When I read this topic headline, I thought, "He has to be talking about Dead Space". Christine won't even watch me play it. Quote
