Bass Dude Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Are any of you fellow Eagle fans having an ulcer about Sunday's game already :-/?? It is going to be one 'H-E-double hockey sticks' of a game!! The regular season match-ups are always intense, so this should prove to be quite the chess match. GO BIRDS!!! Quote
zbass Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 I have to say that it will be a great game. I think the winner of this game will go to the SB. Although I beleive it will be the GMEN on the winning end. GO GMEN! Quote
drmnbig Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Avid Giants fan here so I gotta say the birds are gonna go down. The Gmen are gonna nip their wings so to speak. Quote
SuskyDude Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Another G-men fan! This is going to be a WAR! I can't wait for this game. Jacobs is healthy and FIRED UP! He's gonna be set to put the hurt on some Philly D-Backs! Eagles are playing great ball, but they're going to have they're hands full on Sunday. NY 27 PHI 24 Quote
drmnbig Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 I'm gonna be a little more optomistic on the score. 31-10 GMEN! Quote
Bass Dude Posted January 9, 2009 Author Posted January 9, 2009 HELP ME PHILLY FANS!!!! I'm surrounded by BLUE :'( With no receiver threat, we can concentrate on stopping that devastating running game of the GMEN!!! You are right though, it's going to be war!! One plus, either way---the Cowboys are at home watching it on TV;D!!!!!!! Quote
SuskyDude Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 One plus, either way---the Cowboys are at home watching it on TV;D!!!!!!! Got that right! Quote
bmadd Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 I'm joining the Eagles side. I am a Titans fan though. I've said this a while back, the Eagles are the hottest team right now and I predicted them to play Carolina in the championship game and then against either Pittsburgh, Titans (hopefully), or Ravens. Just need to stick with a balanced offensive game plan and I think their D can handle the rest. Quote

True, but, I don't think that either team was showing the full bag of tricks in that game. They each probably figuered that one way or another they'd be seeing each other again. Quote

Actually, maybe he makes that kick more often not in Carolina, a dome, or some other fair weather stadium....but a 50 yarder in December at Giants stadium on a windy night?..... : Let's just say I wasn't that worried when they lined up to take it. The Giants flat out wore out the Pathers, which is what they'll do to Philly. Quote

That game was close the entire time, so I don't think you can say that the Giants "wore them out". If they do meet again in the NFC Championship I think we will see a different outcome, even if it is in Giants Stadium on a windy night. : (That's if they get past the Eagles.) Quote
SuskyDude Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Sorry, but that is what happened. Carolina's D was sucking wind by the 4th, and weren't not prepared to go into overtime with a physical team like the Giants. They flat got wore out. The Giants took them into deep water and they couldn't handle it. PS. I ain't scared of the Eagles! 8-) Maybe a little nervous PPS. I wouldn't be so sure that the Pathers are gonna walk right through the Cards. They SHOULD, but Warner just might slice up Carolina's mediocre defense. Stranger things have happened. Quote
Jake. Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 They SHOULD, but Warner just might slice up Carolina's mediocre defense. Stranger things have happened. Looks like you've got that one right so far. It seams like at least once every year a team with a first round bye loses all of there momentum. Go Chargers (and down with Eli Manning) Quote
zbass Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 The Cards had it easy in that weather. They played a great game and the panthers stayed home. Look like the outcome next week will be different. Giants stadium is not a freindly place in January. Especially for dome teams. Giants and Steelers in the big one. Quote
zbass Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Congrats Eagles and Eagle fans. Good luck at AZ next week. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 11, 2009 Super User Posted January 11, 2009 Congratulations Philly Fans! Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted January 11, 2009 BassResource.com Administrator Posted January 11, 2009 Way cool. I'm rooting for a Cardinals vs. Chargers SB, but Eagles will probably be there instead. Quote
fathom Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 sure am glad i got florida right because, so far, am 0 for 3 this weekend. Quote
SuskyDude Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Congrats to Philly! Ouch that hurt to say I thought my G-men had you on the run a nuber of times, but Philly stood firm. Especially the D. Giants had the opportunities, but they didn't execute. I'm not crazy about some of the offensive play calling though. Why Gilbride kept sticking with the pass when the run game was working and it was CLEAR that this wasn't Eli's day from the start I'll never know. Oh well, next year. Good luck Philly fans and represent the NFC! Quote
