Good luck!

Try to work in some exercise, just walking is enough.

Most people need the combo to be successful.

You don't know how right you are. The surgery cut my weight in half, and i was maintaining the target weight of 220 by just walking 4 miles a day. I stopped doing that and I have been pounding the sweets, and now I am in trouble again.WALKING IS MY BEST FRIEND and i need some help getting in the Groove again.

I have 3 trails that I was walking and a lake and now the most i walk is from the kitchen to the couch >:(

Hey Muddy I'm sure you've done this at some point, but write everything you do down. Atleast try it with what ever exercise you do. Keep a log of how much, how long, etc. Has made a huge difference for me in the gym. Makes you see what you do, not what you think you do. Helped remotivate me many times because I could look back and see where I was getting lazy.

Also, I hear keeping a food log is extremely valuable. We're supposed to keep logs as fishermen, what's one more? Either way best of luck keeping up with what ever you decide to do.

Insulin free?  That's pretty good.  I've been using a pump for the past six months.  Many Type 1 people pack it on since they can now practically gorge themselves all day long - just keep pressing buttons, LOL.  thankfully, I only put on a much needed 10lbs n muscle mass, and I'm actually thinner than before I got sick.  Its the meat and veggie diet.  Good luck in the support group, and stay healthy!

for those of you who are struggling with weight problems walking is a great thing to do every day,try going for a walk in the evenings   most people are inactive at night even a 20 min walkaround your neigberhood after dinner can help alot . ever think about buying some dumbellls or weights  because the more muscle you have the more calories you will burn throughout the day.  i tell some of my friends to write down everything they eat throughout the day alot of people are amazed at the empty calories they consume look at what youre eating on the list and replace it with a healthier altenative. eat mostly live foods oatmeal wholewheat bread skim milk eggs chicken salmon frozen vegetables  fruit etc try and stay away from processed  packaged foods eat small portions of healthy food every 3 hrs and eat most of youre calories when youre active throughout the day, eat sparingly in the evening when youre least active and get rid of the junk in the house so youre not tempted. its ok to splurge once in awhile just keep it to a minnimum. sorry about rambling i have a twin brother who has always been big and  broke his ankle last year and balloned up to the point where he wanted to get life insurance, last week they came to the house   to weigh him and refused to insure him a big eye opener for him. for years ive been trying to get him to eat right and excercise. we work together and i love him to death and my biggest fear is that he may die if he doesnt lose some of this weight
