Bassboss Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Normally skipping in school is a bad thing, but in my case..... In school I was in a program called "NovaNet." It's a program that if you have been held back in a grade, it lets you go to the next grade after the first nine weeks, and to the next grade after that year is over, thus, doing 2 grades in one year. But you can only be promoted if you have, A's, B's, and C's. And 3's and 4's in conduct. I met all of the requirements, and will be promoted to 8th grade as of 2009, and next year go to high school!!
-HAWK- Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 So you will be 20 when graduating highschool? I dont get it? How could you be 15 and in 7th grade making up two years of school?
Bassboss Posted December 18, 2008 Author Posted December 18, 2008 So you will be 20 when graduating high school? The answer to that would be yes. How could you be 15 and in 7th grade making up two years of school? Lets just say I got held back a little more than once .
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted December 18, 2008 BassResource.com Administrator Posted December 18, 2008 Congrats on getting good grades and good conduct scores! Sounds to me like you are focusing on your schoolwork now, and are working on your behavior. Keep it up!
Super User firefightn15 Posted December 18, 2008 Super User Posted December 18, 2008 Good job bassboss, now stay after it!
Super User bilgerat Posted December 18, 2008 Super User Posted December 18, 2008 Better listen to these guys, Junior. There is no such job called "gettin' paid"
Infidel. Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Good job on getting on the right track!!! There are so many distractions that it is easy to go down the wrong one. Now make us proud and turn those C's to B's and those B's to A's. BTW, by looking at your profile I see that you have only been a member here for a little over two months. Being that you just currently qualified to skip a grade, I don't see how being on BR is hurting you. If anything this has probably been an escape from the other problems that teenagers have to deal with that was putting you in the bad spot to begin with. Does it suck that you are behind? Yes. But what is done is done and the fact that you are catching up it plenty to be excited about.
tyrius. Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Holy freaking schmokes I about had a heart attack there. ;D Anyways, congrats on catching up. I'd recommend working even harder to catch up as much as possible. One thing many people fail to realize is that decisions made early on (like 5th grade, etc) affect your life forever. Congrats on trying to get back on a better path.
Super User Hookemdown. Posted December 18, 2008 Super User Posted December 18, 2008 Congratulations! Is there any way you could skip another grade, or is this a one time thing?
Super User Hookemdown. Posted December 18, 2008 Super User Posted December 18, 2008 ^^Also remember before BassBoss He was on here for awhile as SNAPPER G The past is past. He's working hard to make improvements, yet we criticize. Congrats Bassboss, it sounds like you're heading down the right path. Keep up the good work.
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted December 18, 2008 Super User Posted December 18, 2008 When I was in 7th grade we had a kid who transferred from out of state. This guy was all of 17, full beard and everything. We all called him Hairy.
Super User Muddy Posted December 19, 2008 Super User Posted December 19, 2008 Now build on this. You should get off here a bit and start reading one book a month, work on telling the truth and if you did it once you can do it twice.
guitarkid Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 So you will be 20 when graduating high school? The answer to that would be yes. How could you be 15 and in 7th grade making up two years of school? Lets just say I got held back a little more than once . Don't worry I am 20 and graduating this year. Don't ask please -gk
Super User Sam Posted December 19, 2008 Super User Posted December 19, 2008 Bassboy, Get that high school diploma. That is your goal. Then, either get a career or go to a community college, a trade school or a university. Just get that education.

Fisher of Men Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Bassboss, Please accept my apologies on behalf of some of the BR members who are giving you the business. I don't know that they mean harm by their comments. We ARE proud that you are able to move on to the next grade early, but would like to challenge you to make your academic ventures priority. Prove your critics wrong by making the honor roll every six weeks. Go get'em kid!! P.S. And, for the record, gentlemen, I have had MANY 15-16 year old students in 7th-8th grade who have went on to high school and performed really well. Don't underestimate bassboss!
