Took me forever but with 4 little ones in the house I needed a family safe console that gave them some small measure of exercise.

I noticed that there are some fishing games for Wii, anyone try any of them, or would recommend any?

Any otherr cool games for the system would guys woulds recommend? Especially for a family? (ages 7, 5, 3, 2), the 7, 5, and 3 yr old play obviouls the 2 yr old does not quite get the game thing.

ROCK BAND. I got this for christmas and play it all the time. It is awesome.

Wii sports is an overlooked but excellent game. I have had many fun nights with my family and friends having bowling tournaments. Mario Kart and Mario Party are also good games for the wii that a family can enjoy playing together.

My kids got me "Hooked on fishing" earlier this year. It's kind of hokey but I have fun with it just the same.

Wii Carnival is another we had a blast with, along with the Wii sports that came with the system.

Mark Davis Pro Bass Challenge.  Its for gamecube but its great.  Yesterday I found a deep hole with a mussel bed that came off of a ledge.  The game setting was a clear January morning.  The smallmouth were stacked up there and they couldnt resist a spoon.

You can use gamecube games on wii.

I could spend hours and hours on Wii sports. I think they even have a new one with a beach theme or something. My roomate plays Mario Galaxy every once in a while. Super Smash Bros is fun as heck too.

My kids really like to bowl on Wii sports, and they love mario cart.

Congrats on the wii, I say the wii sports are best for family next to mario's.  The carnival one is awsome, the Nerf one is a blast and I got to play the Rock Band yesterday, I made fun of this game but now I must buy it ;D

I played the Wii Boxing for about 3 hours last weekend (I was left alone) and when I woke up the next day, I felt like I had been in an actual fight.  ;D  It sure was fun although it's probably not the best game for young kids.

And although I sukk at bowling, the Wii bowling is a good game that gets everyone involved.

Wii Sports and Mario Kart are the best I've played for just sheer fun.

I can tell you what not to buy.  Wii Play, Brunswick Bowling, the ricer Need For Speed and Ironman.

LOL. I made the mistake already for Wii play. Lame. But I did get another remote out of it.

I read a few reviews and also picked up Rapala's Fishing Frenzy. It was the only Wii game that got decent rating on reviews. I can give you all the run down on it after I play it some more. I really like pure fishing games. Not arcade. The Pc one I liked was In Fisherman. It didn't have no bonuses, none of that garbage. You got to set your line weight color, a TON of bait to choose from. Realistic fish size. Even had to work your bait a bit to attract big ones. And you had to deal with catching other species like catfish, or sunfish, sometimes. Just a good game, IMO.

Anyhoo, going back to Wii, the sports are awesome though. We probably got 5 hours in, and now i can't lift my freaking arms over my head today. Did about 10 games of bowling, half a dozen tennis, baseball, and 5,000 holes of golf. Oh and I had a 7 yr old girl beat the snot out of me boxing, that was just sad. LOL.

I know it's little pricey and may even still be hard to find but my wife and I got the Wii Fit and love it. It's great exercise and fun at the same time. It's also good for developing balance and coordination.

I agree with the everyone else about Wii Sports. I love the bowling. and the Boxing and Tennis will give you a WORK OUT!
