fish-fighting-illini Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 We traded Derossa? I looked up his stats and they weren't killer but I thought he brought a lot of hear to the team. It looks like the guy we signed to replace him did fairly well and it seems like he has an axe to grind with the Cardinals for them letting him go. Tha's always a big plus! We should have traded D Lee while he had marketability. When he came to bat w men on base my wifes and I's first words were " here goes a ground ball to 2nd base" and it always was. He killed us down the stretch and throughout the postseason. Quote

Super User burleytog Posted January 2, 2009 Super User Posted January 2, 2009 I hate to see him go, but I understand the move. He only had a year left on his contract and Hendry got something (not much, but something...) for him. The move allows Lou to play Fontenot (or Fonteyes!!!!) much more. I think Fonteyes!!!! could end up being the same type of player as DeRosa. He's shown some good pop and just needs a chance to be an everyday player. Miles isn't a bad pickup, hopefully he won't be an everyday player. Hendry is up to something, dumping DeRosa's and Marquis's salaries. Word is Milton Bradley could be coming to Wrigly. :-/ Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted January 2, 2009 Super User Posted January 2, 2009 Miles puts another left-handed bat in their order. The MB rumors have me a bit unesy; his bat is wicked. On the other hand the guy is a headcase. Hopefully the bleacher bums will give it to him good. Meltdown city here he comes. Quote
